COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume.
Note: ABV went down to 5.1%.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2016 355ml can - thanks dwyerpg!
Nice rich roasty aroma, savoury, a bit of soy. Watery palate, carbonation high. A touch yeasty. Bit dull, just some savoury malts. Nothing to really grab onto here, and the carbonation was offputting.

bhensonb (14605) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 15, 2007
Aroma of toffee, coffee and light hints of chocolate. Deep brown color with ruby hilites. Beige head that leaves quickly with some light lacing. Medium+ mouthfeel. Sort of chewy, a bit of sour, along with chocolate malt, not sweet. There is enough hop to balance the dark malt. A rather dry finish. Not nearly so harsh as most browns, but not so smooth as Newcastle by a long bit. Maybe a bit of fruit in the finish. Pretty tasty ale.

Draft in Billings, MT. Dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate sweet nutty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet flavor with a smooth sweet finish that lasted. This beer would go well with a good cigar.

Bottle: Sweet malty aroma, with hints of roastiness. Roastiness much stronger in the taste, with coffee and chocolate as well. Minimal hoppiness. Fairly sweet coffee aftertaste. Seems more like a porter than a brown ale.
