Tap at Clubhouse BFD. 2012 vintage. Pours maroon copper, white head. Aroma is fig, toffee, dark fruit, caramel, burnt sugar, really rich. Nice. Flavor is toffee, caramel, burnt sugar, raisin, fig, maybe some cherry. Kinda a bitter hop finish. Reminds me of 21st lower da boom. Loving this one.

A fantastic barleywine. We had the barrel aged version. Pours a bright cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of salt water taffy, caramel, a bit of vanilla and bourbon. Taste is very salty to start, lots more taffy and candy, with marzipan, vanilla and whiskey in the finish. Very well balanced. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml bottle from a trade. 2015 vintage, bottle number 1352 of 3300 hand written on the back of the label. Aroma has a mild bourbon note, English malts and some woodiness.

The flavor is quite similar to the aroma, a little more bourbon than Wood with a great amount of malt base. A rather warming finish, but I wouldnt call it hot. Texture is not sticky the bourbon helps cut the bold malt. This is much, much better then I was guessing. Pretty much top tier for me.

Bottle at THT. Slight hazy mahogany with barely any head. Lots of sweet malts, caramel and toffee. Bitter leaves, lots of alcohol, some marzipan and vanilla bourbon. Over medium sweet and lots of bitter alcohol. Medium bodied with lots of alcohol. Too alcoholic for me.
