UPDATED: AUG 22, 2012 On draft at WOB Tempe, cloudy amber color, with some caramel and vanilla flavors. Much better than the first time I had it, it is tasty and malty with a little bit of dried fruit.

Tap at Clubhouse BFD. 2012 vintage. Pours maroon copper, white head. Aroma is fig, toffee, dark fruit, caramel, burnt sugar, really rich. Nice. Flavor is toffee, caramel, burnt sugar, raisin, fig, maybe some cherry. Kinda a bitter hop finish. Reminds me of 21st lower da boom. Loving this one.

Light copper golden color with a white head. Deep malty aroma, sweet with a light earthiness. Rich toasty malty flavor, a bit earthy and sweet smooth carbonation and light oaky boozy notes. Notes: 2014 vintage in 2017, on tap at Aces & Ales Tenaya, Feb ’17

At the Barleywine event. Aroma is barrel, caramel, toffee, hops, sweet. Appearance is amber, light tan head, clear. Taste is booze, caramel, barrel, toffee, hops, ok. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, booze caramel aftertaste. Overall, eh.

A fantastic barleywine. We had the barrel aged version. Pours a bright cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of salt water taffy, caramel, a bit of vanilla and bourbon. Taste is very salty to start, lots more taffy and candy, with marzipan, vanilla and whiskey in the finish. Very well balanced. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
