A nice beer.

Strykzone (7361) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - NOV 4, 2010
This beer pours a clear honey golden with a thin pasty head. Almost no carbonation to be seen. Amazingly small aroma but the flavor is much bigger and more aggressive. Big malts with significant hop notes. Citrus fruit is both sweet and tart. Soft caramel. There is a bit of cinnamon spice and some metal. To me this was craft beer meets high gravity.

3.2
TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 18, 2010
12 oz bottle from Binnys singles rack (Naperville, IL). Pours a nice deep copper, still fiery edges, a very large khaki head dies to a decent level, leaves a good lacing with a more cakey head. Aromas are citrusy hops, orange marmalade, caramel and toffee sweet sticky malts, a touch of toast. Initial is lighter bodied than expected, orange marmalade, bubblegum, florals, toasted malts with sweet caramel and toffee, a decent bitterness, faint spiciness, a touch of soapiness. The beer is toasty, considerably thinner than expected, goes down easily if not a bit too sweet for my liking. Simple, caramel and toast mix with a decent bitterness that the sweetness largely overtakes. Orange marmalade, jelly, preserves, fruity but malty. Not bad, just not a preferred drink on my part.

CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - FEB 3, 2005
Pours a clear, mostly still, light brown copper with a nice frothy light tan head. Aroma is a fairly subtle blend of sweet caramel malts, English hops and a touch of corn. Starts fairly thick and malty with a pleasant sweetness, nice carbonation, and a pale malty, dry hoppy finish with a touch of adjuncts. I think this brewery needs to change their yeast strain because they seem to make some decent beers, but the yeast in the end is too adjuncty tasting and overpoweringly lager-like. Thanks to IndianaRed for this brew!

Iphonephan (6988) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - FEB 15, 2016
From a 12 oz can in Jackson Hole. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Caramel nose. Flavors of pine and toffee. Bitter finish.

5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 24, 2004
Bottle pours brownish amber, slightly hazy, large frothy tannish colored head, very sticky lacing, with light carbonation.   Malty aroma, slightly sweet and biscuity.   Soft hop bitterness, amidst a grainy maltiness.   Mild overripened fruit flavor as well.   Nice body, but mediocre mouthfeel.   Finishes with a slightly syrupy sweet cloying feeling, if that makes sense.   A bit heavier than yer normal English Pale Ale, but not bad.

wlajwl (6812) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - MAR 13, 2012
Aroma and flavor is mildly sweetish caramel malts and a decent hoppiness in finish. Pretty good ale, easy to drink but with a decent thickness and body.

3.2
kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 9, 2006
12 oz bottle, via Indiana_Red. Pours a clear mahogany with a amall, fine-bubbled, off-white head. Low citric hop aroma over a sweet toffee and caramel malt base. Accent notes of tea and perfumy hops. Very fruity and malty flavor with a lightly bitter finish. A little too sweet for my tastes. Medium bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and pleasant low carbonation composed of fine bubbles. Not a bad beer, but nothing outstanding. Overall, it’s pretty sweet with an alcoholic kick that gets a little tiring on the palate by the end of the bottle.

ajnepple (6623) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 10, 2013
12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Amber/dark orange and pretty clear with a nice lasting white head. Mild aroma of English hops and toasted malts Similar flavor, light to medium sweetness and an earthy bitterness. Medium body with a smooth finish. 7.2% this year.

Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 2, 2013
This one poured a dark orange with an off white head. Aroma was of caramel, light grassy hops. Flavor was similar, caramel, moderately sweet, and grassy hops. Boring but nothing wrong with it.
