Draft. Sweet malts, crisp in nose. Very red with bitter notes and light brown suger. Short, wet finish. too sweet and mild, but respectable Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 2, 2013
This one poured a dark orange with an off white head. Aroma was of caramel, light grassy hops. Flavor was similar, caramel, moderately sweet, and grassy hops. Boring but nothing wrong with it. blutt59 (6576) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 28, 2009
Bottle, amber brown pour with stiff short head, aroma of sour nuts and caramel, flavor is similar to Moose Drool with more sour notes and an English finish Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - FEB 19, 2006
Bottle: Courtesy of DarkElf via trade. Malty aroma of caramel and toffee with a touch of hops and metal. Pours a very dark amber with a decent off-white head with some staying power. Flavor is a watery caramel up front and some light chocolate in the middle. Finishes with some weak nutty metallic hops. Rather mediocre if you ask me. jgb9348 (6433) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 12, 2011
Clear light copper coloured body with a honey golow and a nice, thick dense off-white head with a nice lace leftover. Aroma of strong, bright citrus and grapefruit hops, yeast, apricots, coriander seed, curacao, honey and some pungent malt - very nice indeed. Medium-bodied; Biting hop flavour at first with a good malt backbone, some light yeast flavours, a touch of bright sweetness and a little alcohol flavour near the end. Good yeast and honey flavours to finish it off and a little light hoppiness in the aftertaste. Overall, a good beer - not too strong and not too weak, but a good beer for the season and a variation from the typical, roasted malt beer during this time of the year - nice! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 16-January-2011 for US$2.59 sampled at home in Washington on 12-March-2011.

12oz bottle. Thick amber brown color. Patchy, soapy head. Ambery sweet caramel aroma, screams old to me. The taste seems the same, some deep faded amber malt and cinnamon sweetness. Poor job of covering the alcohol. Scotch ale with some unpleasant pungent sourness...in a bad way. I hope this is just my punishment for drinking a Winter beer in later April. dwyerpg (6365) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 24, 2012
I thought this was pretty terrible. The aroma is of that of a soured IPA. The flavor is just not tasty. Crisp yet sour and icky. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 8, 2009
Bottle courtesy of douglas88. Pours brown/copper with a thin tan head. Smells of caramel, nutty, earthy, fruity. Tastes of caramel, raisins, spicy, some fruity hints on the finish. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAR 4, 2011
Gold pour with off white head and lace. Light citrus, orange peel, with light bread. Some earthy hops I thnk. Dry caramel malt, orange zest, nice finishing bitter. A bit thin and fizzy. JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - NOV 6, 2002
Clear orange amber color with a lasting light golden/tan head. Aroma of light malt, anise, and stomach acid. Slightly sour orange flavors, along with mild malt. Very sour/bitter finish makes you want to drink something else.
