Hoppy aroma backed by caramelized sugar, dough, and fresh malts. Sweet flavor. Pretty drinkable. Your swill drinking brother might like this. Crit (4011) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 6, 2004
Clear red??? Mine was cloudy brown, with small tan head. Good malt nose promises more than the brew delivers. Light sweet malt flavor with very mild hopping BigBastard (668) - L.A., California, USA - FEB 13, 2006
Bought this because it was on clearance at BevMo. Didn’t smell like much, sort of chocalatey I guess. Flavor is of caramel, toffee maybe some chocaolate, and a sort of musty, earthy flavor. Not bad, gives a nice warmth to the belly. truegen (167) - Puyallup, Washington, USA - NOV 13, 2006
Bottle from first batch into my local market. Pleasing clear red-amber color. The head is active, but quickly fades without much lacing. The foundation in this beer has a lot of potential, malt and hop-wise. It just needs more power for a winter brew. If you expecting a real English Strong Ale make sure you pass this one by. I thought the beer was more fruity tasting than bitter. I didn’t mind the beer, but maybe it would play better in the summer. Not bad, just not real good either.

Nice fruity, citrus, hops, and brown sugar aroma. Amber pour with an okay off-white head. Flavors of hops, fruit, and some caramel. Kind of metallic. Fairly thin mouthfeel. robforbes (2245) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - OCT 27, 2007
pour is amber with a red hue, small egg-shell head.
smell is faint, old grass, sweetness of caramel, a bit of citrus, somewhat floral.
taste is bitter hops, herbs, a little tangy metallic, spices, end is bitter and tangy. eboats (1082) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - NOV 9, 2007
Bottled. Pours deep amber with a ruby hue and a light brown head. Aroma is bread and malt. Flavor is creamy nuts! Some roasted bread, and pretty strong malt body. jetzler (622) - oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA - DEC 27, 2007
Bottle, Some malts, a bit metallic aroma, pours a dark amber with a tan head. Nice malty flavor light hops and a touch of spiciness. Pretty good, as are most of their brews. shakespeare33 (203) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 30, 2007
12oz bottle.. typical mahoghany color of a English strong ale.. but lacks the bitter punch.. cinnamon hops and biscuit malts lead the way but not much else in terms of a good finish.. just okay.. wheres the bitter hoppy overtones?????
