Thanks to whomever brought this to Newport Beach Brewing’s Winterfest bottleshare.
It’s not a tart cherry flavor, nor is it a sweet cherry flavor, but it’s "smoove" I guess. Interesting, but for a special release, it’s nothing special michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 15, 2010
750ml Bottle (2008 Vintage, #660 of 2028): Odd aroma of yeast, light funk, light cherry, grains of paradise, and dough. Poured copper/amber in color with a small to medium-sized, loose, tan/pink-hued head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of yeast, grains of paradise, slight cherry, light alcohol, and light wood. Medium body. Lightly sticky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Yeast and grains of paradise finish is lightly sticky. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 31, 2009
pricey 750ml bottle from holiday shared with dalekliz last rating of 2009. Pours dark red with a tan head Nose slightly cherry. taste is weirdly like fruit punch beer, can’t dig it. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 25, 2009
Sampled on 12/18/2009. Bottle # 392 of 2028. 2008 version. This fruit beer pours a cherry red color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cherry, caramel, malt and sweet. A medium bodied fruit beer. The malts are caramel, cherry and semi-sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. Lively carbonation. A touch of tartness. Interesting, but kind of disappointing. The cherry flavors are just kind of there, they are sweet or tart. The base beer is bland and mild and frankly totally uninteresting. This would not be that much of a problem if the cherry flavors were a little more dynamic. Add bland to bland and you get bland. Drinkable, I have had a lot worse cherry beers, but this one is average at best. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Bottle 1003 of 2028. 2008 bottle. Dark red pour with pinkish, quickly dissipating head. Aroma of cherry soda, alcohol light tart cherry twinge, a bit of confectionery. Flavor is cherry candy, cherry soda, hot alcohol. Fizzy body, not really enough of anything to stop this tasting so hot. Finishes abruptly. This is just a sugary, slightly cherry flavored alcohol bomb. Not really sure how to even describe this. Finished it and I’m about to feel sick.

Pours clear red-brown with a thin white head. Not much in the way of cherries in either the aroma or the taste. This one is better on paper than in reality. DaSilky1 (2608) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 2, 2009
Ruby pink color, thin frothy halo’d top. Nose of fermented fruit, marzipan, and alcohol. Flavors dominant in marzipan notes and yeastiness. Not much cherry coming through but the mouthfeel is thick and the bitterness is pretty firm in the finish. In fact, this is somewhat hot and boozy..but possibly in a good way. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - SEP 12, 2009
This sounded a lot better on paper than it tasted. Smells very cherry, somewhat medicinal, but not overly repulsive. Pours reddish amber, no real head to speak of. Old cherry flavors, perhaps a hint oxidized, I had this one for a minute before opening it. A little hot and medicinal in the finish. Meh. ditmier (1508) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 9, 2009
2008 Bottle - Thanks Toby! - Pours ruddy amber with a dirty, almost purple head...aroma is musty fruit, cherries, cran-apple box drink...flavour is sweet cherry candy, molassas and fire...alcohol is definitely present, nice cherry flavour, but I can’t get past the booze...like cherry Fort divided by 2 and still promising a headache... jkwalking05 (4745) - Arlington, Texas, USA - AUG 18, 2009
Bottle thanks to rollinhard. Red in color with a medium sized beige head. Aroma is of gym socks, cherry, cheese and brown sugar. Taste is of malt, caramel, cherry, very sweet and brown sugar.
