sampled on tap at the 5th Boulder Strong Ale Fest. pours reddish, with cherries and honey in the nose and flavor. a pretty decent beer. luckygirl (1222) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 14, 2007
Sampled at the 5th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Fest. Beer is murky medium brown-orange colored with a large, frothy, white head that diminishes.

The aroma is malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, moderate caramel, toasted nuts; Hoppy with light notes of lemon zest and tea; Yeasty with light note of dough; Miscellaneous note of trace vinous sour cherry.

The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with an average-length, lightly sweet finish. Honey rets.

The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average. marcus (10684) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 2, 2009
75 cl 2007 bottle purchased at the brewery. This reddish amber ale poured with a bubbly off-white head that quickly fizzled out. There is a sour cherry aroma and a flat slightly sweet flavor with a funky or even skunky back taste. There is a warming alcohol sensation after a couple sips. This is an interesting brew that tastes thin and medicinal at first, but improves after a while. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - SEP 12, 2009
This sounded a lot better on paper than it tasted. Smells very cherry, somewhat medicinal, but not overly repulsive. Pours reddish amber, no real head to speak of. Old cherry flavors, perhaps a hint oxidized, I had this one for a minute before opening it. A little hot and medicinal in the finish. Meh. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - FEB 20, 2010
Thanks to whomever brought this to Newport Beach Brewing’s Winterfest bottleshare.
It’s not a tart cherry flavor, nor is it a sweet cherry flavor, but it’s "smoove" I guess. Interesting, but for a special release, it’s nothing special

On tap @ 5th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Fest poured a clear reddish amber with a minimal light pink head. Aromas of light cherry, carmel and a hint of honey. Palate was light bodied and dry. Flavors of carmel, light cherry and a hint of wood with a dry finish. kmweaver (3208) - Petaluma, California, USA - MAY 2, 2008
750mL bottle, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a hazy, ruby-orange color; off-white head with decent retention and lacing. Cherry juice, toasted grains and alcohol in the aroma. Loads of sticky sweetness: red fruit juice (cherries, mostly), fruit leather, sticky candy sugar, and plenty of alcohol showing through; a bit rough at the edges; boozy red fruits throughout. Lengthy finish: fruit juice, sugar and alcoholic warmth; rough. blutt59 (6579) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 20, 2009
bottle, thanks to rollinhard, reddish brown color with astringent cherry aroma, cherry cream soda flavor, some caramel on finish GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - JUN 20, 2009
BevMo has stocked this beer for awhile now and after many attempts at getting it, but putting it back for something else I figured...wtf...let’s do it. Well, first...it’s a huge bottle. There was no way I was going to finish it by myself, unless it totally rocked. It didn’t, but I did get about 3/4 of the way thru it.

The aroma is dark cherry juice, with a bit of cough drop-like medicinal quality to it. Strong cherries in the flavor, toasty malt, a bit of spices...reminded me of a cheap cherry pie you get at a convenience store. Alcohol seemed pretty well hidden, although the more it warms the more it shows up. Not a bad fruit beer to start someone on. Cherry is clearly evident in the aroma and flavor. Looked great in my glass....a dark cherry red color, hazy with a nice pink fluffy head. Price is a little out of whack though.
(750ml bottle 1931/2028 thanks to Rollinhard) Pours a dark orange with nice head. Cherry smell, nose is complex like a Belgian. Nice lacing on the glass. The look and smell of the beer do not represent the taste well. The beer tastes like dark breads with odd bitter lingering flavors that don’t taste good or desirable in a beer. Overall it misses the mark.
