This beer was a bit disappointing. I really did not have specific expectations, however I found it on the back of a shelf at a great beer store and was not sure what to expect in the first place. Average. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - DEC 24, 2013
2008 Bottle; 1276 of 2028. Pours with heavy carbonation. Light brown with a pink tinge to it. Produces a huge head and a lot of sour cherry notes right off the bat. Nose has a lot of cherry in it, strong caramel malt, modest alcohol and a more cherry at the end. Flavor is very pungent in cherry and caramel malt but the flavors just don’t mix one bit. It tastes like cherry Robitussin and causes you to cringe like the cough medicine use too. Body is modest with a ton of carbonation. This was not at all good. Not sure it he aging was off or the beer turned out this way. Only made it through about 1/4 of a bottle before I gave up on it. Beaver (1870) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 26, 2008
750ml bottle. Pours a light reddish-amber with a thin fizzy head that quickly diminishes to a tiny collar then disappears completely.markwise (5450) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 1, 2010
The aroma is off vegetal malts, cherries and sharp rubbing alcohol.
The flavor is sweet cherries and sharp tarry bitter alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly watery with very low but sharp carbonation.
Overall, it’s a bit of a mess. Way too much sharp alcohol.
Thanks to dstructo for the share at Fruit in the Room. Pours reddish-amber with a foamy off-white head. Nose is cherry, tart, yeast, and some medicinal qualities. Flavor is similar and not enjoyable. Light to medium bodied with some unlikable qualities. jake65 (4033) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - APR 5, 2008
Bottle: Lighter brownish amber color with a large, creamy sand colored head. Aroma is bright with grassey hops and sour fruity tartness. Taste is initially light cherry up front before moving into a heavy maltiness with some grassy hops. Finishes a little bitter and of sour fruit. I might have enjoyed this more if it was Valentines Day and I shared it with my wife, but she refused to taste it on the premise that it "Looked and smelled like beer and I don’t like beer." She encouraged me to drink up and leave her alone so I could better enjoy the brew, but I digress... Barely enjoyable given any circumstances and I doubt that any female companionship could have changed it. This brew was a huge dissapointment.

Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, light pink, fully diminishing. Body is medium reddish amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), with light notes of cherry and alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Really depressing. 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 2, 2008
Pours a lightly hazy red/orange with a short-lived white head. Fruity artificial cherry flavoring and harsh, boozy grain alcohol in the nose. Boozy, sweet, alcoholic mess of a flavor: twangy, syrupy, fuesal, on top of some stale cherry flavoring, ugh… just not that good at all. SphinxTX (2878) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - JUN 18, 2009
Bottle thanks to rollinhard, bottle# 1731 of 2028. Pours a hazy dark red with white fizzy head. Aroma has some nice cherry and malt. Flavor is a different story, I was very dissapointed, very sweet, some farmhouse, alcohol, some cherry, sounds good but it was very rough and not smooth (or smoove). Mouth feel is medium body with high fizzy carbonation. Overall, flavor was rough and just not very good.... hbmason (1086) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUN 2, 2011
750 ml bottle that poured an amberish red with a light head. tasted like cherries and band aids. decebt attempt but not a good beer. yemenmocha (659) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - JUN 12, 2009
Pours great - nice large off-white head that laces well as you drink the ale.
Nose is actually rather unpleasant with a fruit-veggie mixture that doesn’t overflow with cherry. Don’t think Lindeman’s kriek when you buy this cherry ale.
On the palate this beer is mildly cherried, somewhat creamy and medium bodied, and has a faint resemblance to those Ludens cough drops. An unpleasant sour exists as well, and normally I love sour ales.
