i have to start by saying this is probably the worst "expensive" beer I’ve ever had. What exactly did i pay $14 for? Pours a redish-amber, similar to Rogue’s Menage Cherry Frog, and like that one ( a cherry flavored belgian) this one is a miss. Not a Kriek, not really tart...a little bitter, sweet semi-fake cherry taste, which does get better as the beer opens up, but somehow it manages to be thin and overcarbonated while also having way too strong an alcohol bite for a beer that’s the Montana legal limit of 8.75%...to the extent that i question if it’s really stronger and the label is just a gimmick. Probably not, but this beer really is a bit of a mess. Definitely won’t buy again for the steep asking price." Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - DEC 24, 2013
2008 Bottle; 1276 of 2028. Pours with heavy carbonation. Light brown with a pink tinge to it. Produces a huge head and a lot of sour cherry notes right off the bat. Nose has a lot of cherry in it, strong caramel malt, modest alcohol and a more cherry at the end. Flavor is very pungent in cherry and caramel malt but the flavors just don’t mix one bit. It tastes like cherry Robitussin and causes you to cringe like the cough medicine use too. Body is modest with a ton of carbonation. This was not at all good. Not sure it he aging was off or the beer turned out this way. Only made it through about 1/4 of a bottle before I gave up on it. Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 27, 2011
Bottle shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. 2008 vintage, bottle 580. Pours murky amber with a large pillowy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of big toffee malts, faint cherries and other fruits. The taste is cherries, earthy notes and a tart finish. Good beer. 4600th rating! 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle:   Deep caramel, dirty, pinkish hued, moderate frothy off-white head, dies quickly, clumpy lacing.
Some sediment seems to be floating about.   Alcoholic nose, slight cherry, a little mealy and barnish.
On the tongue its very warning, not real biting but the cherry sweetness is pretty strong.   Somewhat mealy,
cherry is immature on the tongue.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Seems fairly smooth, albeit its fairly
warming with an assertive alcohol presense.   Finish almost nears cherry cough syrup like qualities, but backs off
before it becomes too much.   Getting some cherry like tootsie roll on the finish.   Tiz okay, but not all
that interesting in my book. portableparty (2398) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - NOV 9, 2011
2008 bottle (88 of 2028). Pours a blood orange color with a quick fizzy off white head that countinues to fizz. Aroma is fruity caramel and farmhouse with maybe some slight cherries in the nose, very candied. Taste is very interesting to say the least. I get cough syrup and sweet and tart rotten cherries with plenty of yeast with caramel malt flavors. Palate is tons of carbonation and ends sticky and dry. I dont know about this one.

This beer was a bit disappointing. I really did not have specific expectations, however I found it on the back of a shelf at a great beer store and was not sure what to expect in the first place. Average. Suttree (6537) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 22, 2011
2008 version, bottle 1702 of 2028. Well, its rare. And it’s calls itself smoove instead of smooth. So it’s got that going for it. but, uh, this was odd. There was a weird metallic or medicinal note throughout, and the cherry flavor was too understated. A little too cough syrupy for my tastes. hbmason (1086) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUN 2, 2011
750 ml bottle that poured an amberish red with a light head. tasted like cherries and band aids. decebt attempt but not a good beer. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - APR 17, 2011
750ml bottle #322 of 2028. Rating #77. Dark reddish/pink color with a very light pink head and it was a decent little Fisher when I opened it, it also had a good amount of yeast under the cap and in the top of the neck which is strange considering it was never on its side since I’ve had the bottle. Aroma was a little bready with a light cherry aroma.sweet cherry flavor, but with a little wet cardboard mixed in there, the cherry flavor was almost like diluted cherry juice, it wasn’t horrible but it also wasn’t great.
