Draught at the brewpub. Clear amber. Aroma of lychee. Medium bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Some roasty malt, plenty of aromatic hops. Medium bitterness. An excellent amber! HoppedHead (106) - seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 27, 2002
Dark amber ale, rich, sweet malty flavor dominate this beer, but good hop profile, assertive bitter comes through slightly, along with a spicey, citrus flavor, darker than most ambers, a well done beer, very drinkable scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - DEC 16, 2010
Bottle from the brewery. Earthy nose accented with caramel, light on the hops. Oranged amber, creamy off white head. Great as a sessionable beer, great when critiqued. Roast forward with brown sugar, matched by a hop profile that offers balance and doesn’t distract from this easy drinker. Bornyensis (321) - BELGIUM - OCT 4, 2015
Mijn eerste Amerikaanse Amber Ale. Zeer lekker en verfrissen, wel een donkere kleur. Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 5, 2006
Dark amber colour. Cool, foresty hop and earthy crystal malt nose. Soft but full body. Light toffee, caramel, breadcrust malts accented with juicy, fruity hops. Very smooth. One of the better examples of the style.

Copper color with a tight head, nice lacing. Sweet bread aroma with caramel and brown sugar. Super smooth mouthfeel. Nice subtle flavors of caramel with some earthy spices. Very nice cask pulled beer here @ the brewpub. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - AUG 7, 2008
Has all the makings of a great amber ale but just not enough of it. Grainy, bready caramel cereal malt backbone with just a touch of earth and sweetness. Nice hop profile with light grapefruit and pine essence. Really nice drink - very much like the Mac & Jacks African Amber, just a lighter version. Draft. Bright amber color, white head. Aroma of earthy caramel. Taste has light grapefruit, light pine, caramel. Decent. heykevin (1281) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - MAR 7, 2004
Faintly grainy aroma. Deep dark crystal maltiness. Solid if unassuming hoppiness. Quite good considering how boring this style can often be, and good not by being an amber hopmonster either. Just a nice mellow malty beer. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAY 12, 2009
Draft at the brewery. Pours crystal clear coppery amber with a decent, creamy white head. Big sweet iced tea and light chocolate nose. Creamy medium body. Iced tea and a bit of sweet milk chocolate on the mid-palate. Longish, somewhat drying iced tea finish.
