This won so many awards in denver. With good reason. Could have a little more alcohol content. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 18, 2008
Roasted ash aroma, some choco, slight smokiness. Opaque with crimson edges yet maintains a light swirl. Black malts are nicely balanced with slight creamy caramel and decent hoppiness. Just a great beer. Thanks André! mreeves (276) - Sammamish, Washington, USA - JAN 18, 2006
Roasty, chocolatey, almost stout-like. Dark brown to black color, light can’t pass through this one. NIce appearance, carbonation, lacing down the glass. I think this one is vastly underrated and an excellent porter. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - DEC 18, 2010
Roasty muddy nose, black in the glass with a small agitated tan head. Chewy dark grain, gritty middle, book-ended with creaminess. Raw chocolate creeps in the finish. BillKismet (4072) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 27, 2002
Alluring sweet, candy-sugar smell in this coal-colored offering. Pleasantly malty flavoring with a just enought dry bitterness on the finish. A fairly impressive porter.

Draught at the brewpub. Very dark brown. Strong capuccino aroma. Fairly dry with soft mouthfeel and medium body. Strong flavours of coffee and licorice. Tarry bitter finish. shadey (2140) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 15, 2006
Black pour with a mocha creamy head (whitish). Lots of chocolate and roast in both the aroma and the flavor. prpplague (247) - Euless, Texas, USA - MAY 10, 2003
draft. dark large carbonation head, with thick foamy lace, semi-opaque coke brown/black, aroma with hints of carmel and roasted nuts. flavor was creamy smooth with a unusal smooky hops finish 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 12, 2004
Deep brown, smooth texture, semi-creamy flavor... some burnt malts, nice wood flavors and a dry palate. Balanced, and overall light, with less flavor than most porters. Very smoky licorice nose. Pretty good smoke finish. Oakes (17813) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 5, 2006
Dark brown colour. Chocolatey, toasty, citrusy aroma. Full body. Big chocolate malts with light toast/roast. Smooth. Off-dry finish. Pretty solid.
