Draft at Big Time. Dark ruddy brown, good hazy white head. Soft sweet hop, ruddy malt, sweet beer with nice molasses and brown sugar. Not as sharp with the yeast as a Belgian, of course, but balanced and very tasty. Great beer. Good hops, very fresh, a bit muddled in the middle but good! beastiefan2k (3981) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - FEB 3, 2014
10th rating, makin thus shit legit. Thick dark amber color for my sampler. Aroma is as promised candi (I wonder what Jack tastes like). Nit too strong, clean behind that, no crazy esters. Flavor has a butter melding of the candi with heft Belgian malts. Its a good stab at a Belgian. No crazy esters but not enough to balance the sweet. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Fiery golden, moderate pillowy white head, little to no carbonation, sticky lacing.   Strong and sweet pale bready nose. Its got some alcohol right up front, whoa. Otherwise its a sweet bready flavor with a smidgen more hops than usual.   The slight bitterness actually lends itself well.   Its not cloying like so many others, but the backside yields some strong alcohol notes.   Yeah, this one is not cloying at all, which is a complete surprise given the style, but very welcomed.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   The alcohol dominates the backside.   Perhaps it could use some more sweetness.   Between the alcohol and the soft hops, this one does need to feel a bit heavier with some bready malt goodness.   Otherwise decent, even if you shouldn’t smoke during the intake of this beverage.yespr (45499) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 12, 2012

Draft at big time. Chill hazed darker golden with decent dense had formed by the bartender. Apple an banana phenols with honey wheat cereal grain. Peppery up front, followed by estery banana and apple, light wheat, and plenty of clove throughout. Little rough and the clove just dominates as it warms. Hazy dark golden color with lasting ivory sheen. Pale malt, herbal, spicy belgian yeast aromas. medium body. Dusty bready pale malt flavors with candi sugar, spicy yeast... mildly boozy warming finish--good Smurf2055 (1400) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Pours straw colored with a couple fingers head. Sweet smell. Powerful taste. Hoppy, bitter. Complex. It’s a bit rough, but drinkable. Wouldn’t classify it as an abbey style ale. It’s good, but when there’s Cereal Killer and Old Wooly on, there are better options. BillKismet (4064) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 25, 2007
Dark bronze/brass color. Little apparent yeastiness. More reminiscent of an English Strong ale with the strong influence of candi-sugar and mild hop bitterness. mreeves (276) - Sammamish, Washington, USA - JAN 11, 2007
Dark gold color, aroma and appearance nothing special. Candy sugar presence is apparent, but it seems to have a bit of an off-flavor that I can’t quite peg. I was a little disappointed in this one--didn’t really taste all that Belgian to me.
