Time. Heavy sweetness. Spicey raisin and toffee apple, some oak/pine, some brandy like warmth in the finish, resiny, strong and full.
Draft at the brewpub. Medium amber, looks quite still, with a thin but moussy tan head. Big orange and coriander nose. Styrupy creamy sweet mid-palate, with resiny bitterness and then that near-peppercorn tang of some spice or other...definitely seems like a coriander’s in there. Unique and really pretty awesome. Draught. High fluffy off-white lasting head. Hazy golden body. Chccolate sweet aroma. Hoppy choccolate flavor without being bitter. Low carbonation, long aftertaste.

Dark auburn pour with a lingering head and really nice lace. TOns of malt in the nose. Caramel, toffee, some fruity notes. Very malty flavors, lots of caramel, dark fruit, toast and a touch of dryness - chocolate or roast. Hardly any detectable hop balance, but never too cloying or unpleasant. This scotch colored strong ale has a light candy aroma--that lacked potence for some reason. Candied cherry flavor becomes more pronounced with each sip. This beer seems more suited for Christmas time than for its summer release While a tad sweet for my tastes, this is a beer that should pair well with desserts. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - APR 10, 2006
Another enjoyable beer. Somewhat sugary sweet aroma, with some candi like brown sugar and modest toffee maltiness. Somewhat rich with some maple syrupy type thing going on the palate, but overall pretty enjoyable, could be a little more balanced. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 11, 2007
Cloudy amber w/ small head. Good malt sweetness. Just a bit of grapefruit hop taste. Alcohol is fairly subtle. Not hot at all. Slight bitter finish. Tasty, drinkable and not over the top. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - AUG 27, 2007
On tap at Big Time. Pours clear dark copper with a full sweet body and light carbonation. Citrus toffee nose. Toffee and fruit in the taste. Nice finish.
