Busted Knuckle Red is best described as a fortuitous meeting between an easy-going Irish Red Ale and a sultry femme fatale Belgian Double. The beer promises to have a malty belgian sweetness with roasted red attitude. Crystal and Munich malts, some roasted barley complimented by belgian candy sugars elevate this brew to a new level of quaffabilityand the fuggle hops provide an earthy, mellow undertone. QUAFF ON!

Sampled at the Brewpub. It poured a red/brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was malty and fruity. It had a medium body with some carbonation. The taste was of bready malts, plums, sugar, caramel and some grains. Not bad.

Clear, very dark mahogany; light tan head around the rim, thin cobwebs of lace. Taste is roasted caramel malt with a hint of fresh-cut hay and molasses. Taste moves smartly through the palate to a finish that never lets the hop bittering show up. The resulting sticky sweet finish diminishes what is potentially a quality ale.

Rated on 01-30-2010 (Draft) This beer pours a small tan head with a short retention, opaque body, no visible carbonation, a fair amount of lacing, and a brown hue. The Aroma is malty, caramel, earthy, hoppy, and candied sugar. The Taste is malty, caramel, hoppy, and semi-sweet. The Palate is tingly and this is a light-medium bodied beer. Overall, the taste of this beer is bland, lacks character, and was boring to drink. This is not a beer I will seek out again.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a fairly opaque dark reddish brown with thin off-white lacing. Smells and tastes fairly sweet and malty with notes of caramel and a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Beer tasting I was confused. Too much going on to find a nice balance. Sweet but hoppy, the finish could have been better.

Ive visited this local brewery several times over the past few years & each time I try the "Busted Knuckle" it gets better. Mellow & smooth, this has become my new favorite brew!

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, cocoa, light coffee and light toasted malt. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, carmel, light roastiness and light coffee with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.
