rated 4/21/03 at Bill's, Cannon Beach. A dark cloudy brown, with a thin whitish head that diminished quickly. Minimal aroma, but a nice smokey flavor with the trace of licorice in the finish, and some chocolate hints through the middle.
Pint – Bill’s Tavern & Brewhouse – Cannon Beach, OR neepsntatties (1988) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 26, 2009
Aroma – Light dark malt aroma and that’s it.
Appearance – Dark brown/amber in color, Clear, with a thin head.
Flavor – Light dark malt flavor and then it ends with watery flavors. Not much else. This was like watered down dark brown ale.
Palate – Dry finish with a decent Mouthfeel.
Overall – I was hoping for more in the malt dept. More coffee, chocolate some umph this was not a good porter.
Had this on tap at Bill’s Tavern in Cannon Beach, OR. Colour... medium brown with a thin edge of head around the rim. Nose... some smokey hops and a bit of malt. Palate... quite roasty, somewhat tangy, light anise, charcoal and soot, some hop bite on the back palate. anders37 (26605) - Malmö, SWEDEN - OCT 11, 2008
Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty finish with some hints of chocolate. Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 25, 2007
Dark brown. Toasty aroma. More toast on the palate with light chocolate. A bit thin in body. Very simple, standard porter. Not getting any smoke or liquorice, that’s for sure. BuckeyeBoy (7663) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 14, 2006

A wonderful porter, kind of gets away from the typical flavors and gets more into some of the baltic varieties. Slightly smokey, with a little hint of tobacco, and a great taste of licorice, that reminds me of drinking a twizzler. Rich and robust. pinkzambia (1931) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 16, 2005
On Tap at Bill’s: This beer was wonderfully dark with a espresso colored head and sticky lacing. It was thicker than most porters which is probably why I liked it. It has a rich, charcoal flavor that lingers in the nostrils. Rich is the word here. I thought it was really good. 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 10, 2004
Medium dark brown. Biting hops, maple flavored malts and a brown-ale likeness with some vanilla. Again, a disorganized attempt... roasted nuts in the finish... but disappointing.
