Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 22/12/2016. Near black, with a small, beige, head. Coffee beans some vanilla oak, toasty malts and some creamy sweetness before a dryish finish. Very good, Binghams certainly know how to brew stouts. leaparsons (10655) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 4, 2016
Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Very dark with a thin beige head. Rich coffee with burnt dark toffee. Earthy and spicy with dark berries. Creamy vanilla oak with dark chocolate. Hints of herbal liquorice and bonfire. Oily with a solid roast finish. Good stout. BeerViking (4946) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2016
Cask at the Plough & Harrow JDW, near black with a big tan foam, strong coffee aroma with hints of vanilla and cocoa. Sweet and slightly syrupy texture with a hint of lactose, drying in the finish. Initially overwhelming mocha coffee note settles in a bit as the roast burnt-bitterness and vanilla come through, but is still potent. Interesting, though I’d like to try it cut 50/50 with the regular stout to moderate the adjunct notes. imdownthepub (14943) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 20, 2016
Cask conditioned at St. Aldates Tavern, Oxford. Black with cream head. There is a rich, roasty, darkly roasted maltiness with a creamy sweetness from the start. Coffee and vanilla notes, good depth of flavours. Very pleasant indeed. BeardedAvenger (949) - Addlestone, Surrey, ENGLAND - JUL 5, 2016
Cask at Prince of Wales, Farnborough. 05/07/16. A hint of aroma - weak coffee. Dark and deep - would send the painter from the Fast Show off on one. But scored at 3 only due to the weak beige head. Sweet tasting - the macchiato reference is accurate. A bitter undertone, carbonation on the tongue. Surprisingly light in body. I likes, but a tad sweet.
