Cask @ GBBF14. Smooth roasted nose. The beer starts intense, vanilla with a nice roasted stout-body. Interesting, but fits great! Roasted hints, Espresso, coffee and nice smooth vanilla.
The aftertaste is smooth, vanilla & roasted malt, nice bittered, not too intense, highly drinkable, great! wheresthepath (2335) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 28, 2016
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2016 Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading. Black with a thin beige head. Light fizz. Vanilla is obvious in the whiff, and I was afeared this may be unbearably sweet. But no- it’s well balanced by the roasty malts and heavy coffee notes of the underlying stout. Incredibly smooth and silky. I love Binghams Doodle Stout and this is a great variant of it (unlike the hot dog version). Like a vanilla latte mixed with the flavour of a creme caramel dessert, but with the sweetness checked just enough by a sprinkling of dark roasted coffee beans and a hint of wood. Nice. Really nice. Possibly even be better than the original version. A superb stout. Leighton (21258) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2011
Cask at Craft Beer Co., London. Brown pour, light tan head. Great roast and light vanilla nose. Medium sweet flavor, good vanilla, some chocolate, nice roast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some dirt, faint bitterness, earth, roasty malts, lingering vanilla, light mocha. Awesome beer. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - SEP 28, 2011
Cask Conditioned Handpump Craft Beer Co London. A black beer with an off-white to beige coloured head. Full of vanilla in the nose, over and above anything else really although I’m a big fan of vanilla so that’s OK by me. Beautifully balanced in the mouth with the vanilla working with the roasty dark malts. Not over roasty, just a really tasty stout.

Cask 1/3 pint, gravity dispense, at the 16th Twickenham Beer & Cider Festival. Black colour, beige head. Pleasant aroma of vanilla, chocolate and moderately roasted malts, hints of mild coffee. Very nice flavour, moderately sweet, again notes of vanilla (but not too much), chocolate and mild coffee. thepegjett (1260) - Cambridge (via Winnipeg), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2012
Honestly...vanilla float. Quite creamy, and easy to drink, with the sweet vanilla and coffee. Good. BeerViking (4796) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2014
Cask at the Magpie, deep dark red-black with a loose coffee coloured crema, vanilla, coffee and a little strawberry on the nose. Roasty palate with coffee notes, touches of burnt treacle and liquorice, and just a hint of choc and vanilla. Dry and roast body contrasts nicely with a bittersweet finish. Mittlerer Körper, noch etwas wässrig. Kräftiger Kaffee und süße Vanille im Antrunk, dazu Gewürze. Zur Mitte immer noch Mischung aus Süsse und Bitterkeit.
