Grumbo (3722) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2017
From cask at the 26th East Anglian Beer & Cider festival, Bury St Edmunds. Pours almost black with a ruby tint and a small lasting beige head. Aroma of malt, toffee, vanilla pods and light fruit. Heavy to medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. uckelman (813) - Durham, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2017
At Chippenham Beer Festival. Black, not much head. Roasty, hints of vanilla. Medium body. A bit acidic. Nice. beerbp (25) - - FEB 8, 2017
Considering this won CAMRA champion beer of Britain 2016, it sucks balls! Thin, mild flavours, not enough body, not enough vanilla, not enough anything. Vladivostok (491) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2017
Quite a sweet stout with most of the flavours you would expect. As others have noted, the vanilla can be hard to discern. Despite that, this is still a nice easy going stout with or without the vanilla. ManVsBeer (10926) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2017
Rochdale Beer Festival 2016. Black with a lovely smoothness to its texture. the vanilla is light but flavoursome.

Cask 1/3 pint, gravity dispense, at the 16th Twickenham Beer & Cider Festival. Black colour, beige head. Pleasant aroma of vanilla, chocolate and moderately roasted malts, hints of mild coffee. Very nice flavour, moderately sweet, again notes of vanilla (but not too much), chocolate and mild coffee. tombyars (1744) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 21, 2016
Tasted this at the Troon Beer Festival on the 7th October 2016. Cask, gravity dispense. Dull black in colour with a thin dark tan head. Malty aroma with chocolate malt and fudge in evidence - struggling to note the vanilla though. Thin but creamy texture to the mouthfeel and poor lacing throughout. Dark malt complex gives a rich depth of flavours with treacle fudge, dark chocolate and mocha coffee present in the mouth. Dry hop resins give a bitter bite to the balanced aftertaste. Finish is sweet and smooth with chewy treacle, coffee crème and a hint of liquorice. This stout is full of depth and flavour and tastes stronger than the 5% ABV implies. Highly recommended. harrisoni (19157) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2016
Cask gravity at Firkin Alehouse Folkestone. Black beer thin tan head. Vanilla chocolate aroma. Dry stout. Good. Good balance. Lovely chocolate sweet vanilla ok but not the best beer in Britain.
