Indonesia is tropical. This beer goes hand in hand with the territory, but it does not do enough to be held in such high regard. A bare beer. Nothing going on. Looking for hay you might get the colour, but I remember chewing on hay that tastes better. The alcohol is up-front due to a lack of perceptable hops. As palettes become more discerning it will fall away to better Indonesian Pilseners.

Sample at the Cotteridge Convention III 2017. Poured a crystal crystal clear straw colour with a bubbly white head. The aroma is skunky malt light hop. The flavour is light bitter with a dry light malty corn light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

330ml bottle picked up for the country tick. Clear golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma: malts, sweet and sugary, corn, mild grassy hops. Taste: pale malts, sugar, mild hops, quite a sweet tasting lager, hint of bitterness in the finish, also a slight chemical aftertaste. Light body, average carbonation. Might be alright with spicy food but really this is a poor lager, just tastes like sweetened carbonated water.

SarkyNorthener (4565) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2017

The looks of the beer are simple, but not bad. It looks like a pale alger should. The color of the beer is a nice golden yellow and the beer is very clear. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of soft white foam, with surprisingly good retention for this kind of beer. A nice soft drape remains for quite some time. The smell is nice. Simple, pale lager, but nog bad. I smell some clear and simple malts, together with some mild bitter hops. There isn’t a lot of smell, but the smell there is is not bad. Quite average though. There are better pale lagers. The same for the taste. Simple sweeter malt and bitter hops. Not very much else. The both are in balance though. The palate is simple to. Light body, a bit watery texture and medium high carbonation. The finish is short, but contains some alcohol and hops. All in all, a very average beer, but it is not bad.
