Also called Monks Caf Flemish Sour Red Ale

We blend young and old beers to make this mildy tart sour ale. Light bodied with a lactic/sour nose and a bit of sweet and sour in the finish. Very refreshing!

Pours a deep reddish brown with a foamy light brown head. Was not expecting that at all. Aroma is red wine, earthy, cherry, sour fruits. Im not very experienced with sours so its hard to put to words exactly what Im smelling. Taste is sour cherries, granny smith apples, and slight malt on the back end. Different, but I like it.

Hazy dark brown with a foamy cream colored head. Sour, wild yeast aroma. Tart, sharp, fruity bite, tart...tart. Not bad, but I dont love it.

Monks Cafe Flemish Sour Ale. A simple, but good sour. Aroma and taste is not as intense as others within the category. Nevertheless pleasant.

This was the Monks Cafe Flemish Sour ale and routed me here. Poured a slightly unfiltered reddish-brown with a foamy beige head. Sweet taste of tart cherries, sour, candy, and vinegar. Average carbonation, medium body. Thanks for the trade Bob.

Pours a deep reddish brown with a thin off white head. Nice tart, sour, fruity aroma. Crisp clean slightly tart taste. Flavors arent too bold but still pretty good. Smooth finish. Refreshing and enjoyable but not the best Ive had.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip glass. The appearance showcases a thin fizzy off white head. The color is a ruby brown similar to cola. The aroma opens up with cherry and cranberry some herbal notes to add. The flavor is starts with sweet cherry like notes with toast grain at the base. In rings the sour with cranberry/cherry tartness on the tongue with a hint of black pepper. Almost like a carbonated Pinot Noir rose. Very delicious sour to have with pork dishes.

For the book. Aroma is sweet, apples, raspberry, woody, not tart or sour. Appearance is red brown, light tan head, mostly clear. Taste is apples, raspberries, wood, slight tartness, mostly sweet though. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, woody aftertaste. Overall, meh. Another book failure.
