Monk’s Café NOT Bios Vlaamse Bourgogne. 11.2oz bottle. Pours a reddish dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is plum, cherry, yeast, light vinegar, malty sweetness, and just a hint of acidity - not especially aromatic. Taste is plum, vinegar, cherry, yeast, lactic acid, some red wine, and a touch of earth. Lightly sour and fairly sweet. Dry finish. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Pours clear deep maroon with a red tinge and with big off-white head. Settles as several centimeters thick layer of foam. Massive lacing. Aroma is quite sour bordering on the acidic. Vinegar and citrus. Subdued sweetness. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is lightly sweet followed by stronger sourness. Aftertaste is sour and finish dry. Alluring tart sour aroma in a deep red brown pour. Laid back sour taste is nicely balanced with a hint of sweet dried fruit in the body. A nice example of the style but exceeded by others.

Can shared. Thanks Ryan! Pours a deep reddish purple with a small cream-colored head. Tons of boyensenberry jam, blackberry and Concord grape and raspberry in the nose. Really just a ton of berry notes. Good carbonation with lots of jammy character on the palate. Refreshing, but gets a little sweet as it warms. Nice lingering tartness thoughout. Solid.
