COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled; Regular.

A pale golden ale with an aroma of tropical fruits and a dry citrus flavour of grapefruit and peaches giving way to a pleasant hoppy finish. Brewed with American Citra hops to give that unmistakable fruitiness balanced by the Styrian Goldings for a slightly bitter edge.

Bottled 14/05/14. A golden coloured beer which looks totally flat and lifeless. The aroma is really not nice. Sweet boiled toffee and vegetable water. Bit of sweet and sour lemon in the mouth with some boiled veg again. This batch must have seriously messed up as nearly everyone disliked it. The previous batch for the judges must have been better I assume.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Team Valley. A pale golden beer with a sweet toffee and fruity flavour, slight soapy notes on the citrus finish.

500 ml bottle - Despite a golden appearance there are no desirable aromas at all. Neither is there the dry citrus, grapefruit or peaches. Alright really.

Bottle. Pours a dark orange colour with a thin white head, no real aroma as such, taste is sweet and a bit sour, with a dry bitter finish.

Bottled, 500ml from Sainsbury’s in Banbury. Brownish gold with no head. Dull, flat pour, hard to get any life into the beer. The flavour is lifeless too unfortunately, there is a hint of Citra hop maybe, but only if you go searching for it otherwise boiled vegetable / malt, spalty, sweaty notes. Pretty poor, shame.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2013 500ml bottle from Sainsbury?s - a clear yellow with a transient minimal head, no lacing; aroma - a malty slightly citrus; taste - mild bitterness and some malt. Undemanding as a beer and to do that means being somewhat characterless I thought.

Bottle at home frm Sainsburys? Aroma is onion, chive toast / caramel malt, stale bread. Light caramel colour with no head and a light haze. Glavour is thin , tinny caramel toasted malt, some metalic notes. Palate is thin with medium carbonation. Really dull beer. I’m not finishing this one.

Clear bottle at The New Penguin. Dehydrated urine gold with precious little head. Overwhelming bourbon and Mr Kipling pie filling sweetness aroma; same flavour, Innis & Gunn oak-sweet with nothing to back it. Damaged and buttery. Tried to offload half onto the missus but she wasn’t having it. More of a nasty little accident than anything serendipitous.

Clear 500ml bottle: BBD end of Jul 14. Poured into a UK pint sleeve in a hot kitchen on 20 Oct 13 while preparing a Sunday lunch for a few people. Refreshing and a lot better overall than I was expecting. Leaning towards orange from golden in colour, full, if a little thin, white head. Nice fruity nose, tropical feel to it with a slight malty molasses note as it warmed a little. The taste was a pleasant if subtle blend of flavours. Mild hop front and finish with a semi-sweet malt centre. OK rather than wonderful, but it was fine for me when I had it.

Clear, golden. Some fruity citrus in the aroma and in the flavour too. Quite watery with a weak finish.
