Nooner at Taco Mac University. Pours golden with a white head. Doesn’t leave much lacing in the glass. Fairly big floral notes on the nose. Lots of floral notes on the nose. Has a touch of bitterness on the finish. Not bad but not big enough to be a west coast IPA.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Charlotte. Golden orangey color with a white head. Very creamy mouthfeel and piney hop flavor and finish. Nothing overly fancy, but pretty solid.

Msdrbeat (785) - East Lansing, USA - JUL 15, 2016
On tap at Midwood. A hoppyness accompanied by smooth mouthfeel. Not super fruity hop character just very bitter.

fiveacestx (977) - Texas, USA - DEC 29, 2015
On tap - cloudy burnt orange with quite possibly the longest head retention I’ve ever seen on a beer. Lots of hop aroma and grapefruit hop taste. Very west coast for an east coast IPA but not too dry. Medium body.

On tap at the workman’s friend in Charlotte, NC. Birdsong Higher Ground IPA is a amber straw colored hazy beer with a finger’s width of small white bubbles. Nose is on the grassy side of hoppy with a little sweetness. Taste is grass, malt, caramel and a bit of pine. A bit on the thinner side of texture. a bit more of a subtle IPA. not exactly sure it’s my thing.

Appearance: the beer is a nice cloudy bronze color, the beige head settled quickly Aroma: caramel, grass, Taste: very strong caramel malt background that adds a bit of sweetness, assertive bitterness follows the initial malt, some alcohol as well but not overwhelming Palate: soft carbonation, full mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste Overall: this is a good full bodied ipa, has a nice malt and hop balance that let's them both shine ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

hayduke (5757) - Eureka, California, USA - OCT 1, 2015
Sampled at the GABF 2015. In the tasting glass it was amber gold (orange) with a white cap. Nose of citrus and pine. Medium in body. Flavor is mostly the citrus and pine and the finish is bitter. Seems pretty much classic west coast IPA and is well done. Good one.
