Dried fruits, spices, caramel, some orange in nose. Pours dark amber with white head. Taste is medium sweet with figs, dactyls, spices, bread, caramel and some citrus. Low bitter finish, average to lively carbonation. Overall interesting, good.

As far as it concerns this beer being a Christmas ale, I’d say it’s pretty well brewed. Whether you like the style or not is a completely different story. It pours dark ruby with a huge, dense, tan head that lasts long. Aroma is red berries, vanilla, hot sweet wine punch. All very Christmas-y. Taste is sweetish, oily, a little boozy. Long finish with no bitterness whatsoever. Season’s greetings!

Bottle from Eataly, Genoa consumed at home Tuesday 6th June 2017 whilst cooking Untraditional Shepherd Pies from the Pie book. This is a far more interesting beer than I was expecting, it does taste more Belgian than I thought, nice dark sugars, pleasant bitterness. Pours chestnut, good clarity, white head. Quite fruity but with a dab of spice drinks much easier than it should. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Cloudy chestnut brown. Medium sized off-white head. Well-lacing. Aroma: dried fruit, honey, nectar, orange peel, blossom. Medium body. Low to medium sweet taste. Fruity, yeasty, spicy, nutty. Low bitterness. Very decent overall.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAY 19, 2017
Spiced Christmas pudding, brown malts. Refined and warming, dark malts, nice sweetness but certainly not one sided. Drinks dangerously easy. Tasty! (cute bottle from Saveur Bière)

larsga (7629) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 11, 2017
Medium beige head. Hazy reddish body with lots of particles and strong carbonation. Fruity wooden aroma with brown sugar raisin notes. Dryish spicy mealy fruity taste with wooden raisiny notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry resiny spicy raisiny aftertaste with fruity wooden metallic notes. Nice, drinkable, full of flavour. Maybe a little dry and harsh. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly.)

Bottle split by 2 thanks to Kraddel. Dark amber brown, deep tanned bubbles. Nose is sweet raisin, sugar, candy, sweet, low BE dark fruits & low oxidation. Simple, low oxidation note, sugar, candy, some plastic, raisin, basic,... Simple bodied, slick,... Not sure where the oxidation note comes from since that it is pretty fresh supposedly, orange peel & raisin combo maybe? Decent sweet Belgian styled brew.

Brown body, off white head. Aroma has alcohol, raisins, cola, figs and some bread. Flavour is more alcohol forward. Not my treat.
