[10/18/13] Draught at Bir & Fud in Rome. Deep chestnut color with a beige head. Aroma of malt, some smokiness, nuts and caramel. Sweet flavor, caramelly, smoky, a bit toasty, with some nuts. Medium-bodied. Palme (4816) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 16, 2013
A lovely looking 0.75l bottle that makes those funky clunky sounds when you pour it. Top score on the sound! It actually has a deep bronze chestnut colored body this, absolutely packed with lots of floaters and sediments, with a nice big really lacing light beige top. The nose is present and it kinda smells like you would imagine it would to be honest. It had some brown sweetness - like brown sugar, wet leafs, some yeast and traces of something slightly sour-ish. Fair enough. It has a nice light oily mouthfeel with a gentle small prickling carbonation level. The taste has chocolate paper with nutty brown candied sugar sweetness. I get again soft yeasty tones here. I was not expecting it to taste like this. It’s actually quite good is. The nuts make a nice appearance towards the finish here. I was expecting another slightly generic, and dare I say boring Italian food-beer, but this was actually a bit interesting. I don’t mind a bit that it’s a large bottle. 09.08.2013 Japalo (1887) - DENMARK - AUG 15, 2013

75 cl. Haze with yeast lumps. Brown. One finger foam. Nutty. More malty than hoppy. Some castagne bitterness in the finish. Good body for this light brew. Not bad. Complex.
On bottle from Ølhandleriet , Oslo. Copper golden, ok foam - lots of sediments. High aroma intensity, castagnes, malt, dried fruits- ok fruitiness. Medium body & complexity. Kind of sweet, some bitterness- overall on the sweet side. Good craftsmanship, but not my kind of beer

Bottle, courtesy of - and shared with - Maltmisjonen; cheers man! :-) Pours a dark hazy nut brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma is grains, biscuits, chestnuts, syrup, caramel, hints of biscuits and straw. Taste is biscuits, grains, nuts and hints of smoked ham and some metallic-like straw tones. Medium mouthfeel, soft to medium carbonation. OK nutty ale with a fruity touch, but not really that impressive IMO.

Tap. Rich beer for the ABV. Smooth and full. Hint of chestnut, toffee malt some caramel and a moderate dry finish. Idiosynkrasie (7834) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAR 9, 2013
750ml bottle. Minimally cloudy amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Minimally sourish, slightly herbal aroma with cautious nutty and caramel malty notes in the background. Taste is initially dry herbal with minimally sweet malty background, the sweetness fades away, leaving to a dry herbal finish. LarsEngen (367) - Sandvika, NORWAY - MAR 9, 2013

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Nice woody/castagna notes. Modcerate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Some week fruity notes, maybe belgian yeast? Oily palate. Pleasent interesting beer. OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 1, 2013
Beautifully designed 0.75 L bottle, bought @Ølhandleriet, Mathallen, Oslo. Low dense greyish blond head. And let’s say; Hazy chestnut colored body. Pretty nice smell of something herbal and floral, with a whiff of nutty, marzipan-like malts. Fine malt profile. Clean, sweet and light nutty. The chestnuts added, provides some interesting flavors, also a light soapy sidenote. Balancing bittering hops underneath. Oily mouthfeel. Overall, a tasty and interesting beverage.
