Bottle: pours hazy orange with a thin white head, tart aroma, taste is slightly sour, some carbonation, dry finish
Dec. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle at Regina del Formaggio, Split. It poured a hazy golden body with a huge head. Fine, lemony, tart lambic and apricot aroma. Flavor was lightly sour and lightly sweet, showing some cider characteristics but on the other hand a typical lemony-chalky saison. That fruity sourness was balancing somewhere between green apple and lemon, with ton of chalk from yeast. Spiced up with cork and leather, this was quite complex beer although, as it’s a saison obviously, not very rich in flavors except dominating tartness. Thinner in body with moderately long finish which followed the flavor in leather and apple-lemon notes. Interesting blend I never thought about before, but it turned out excellent, ennobling base saison which is good anyway. Very refreshing and enjoyable summer beer. migwell (365) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 28, 2017
A friend bought a bottle of this and offered me a taster. Frankly, this style, or blend of styles, is lost on me, possibly due to my lamentably poor sense of smell, but moreso by my preference for the mainstream styles, from lager to stout. So, naturally, I’m rating this on my lack of appreciation for the style rather than on its place within that style. Disregard! GRM (4073) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 8, 2016

A 330ml bottle with a nice unique bottle shape and a best before date of April 2017, poured into a Cantillon ballon glass. It poured a nice clear golden colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly but leaves nice lacing. Aromas are tart, lemon peel and oak with a hint of apple and funkiness. Tastes tart and funky with fruity lemon and apple. Not overly sour, and in fact I got a lightly sweet apple cider finish. Dry, light bodied with high spritzy carbonation. Overall this was nice and refreshing. I am lucky to have one more bottle, which is a good thing considering Birra del Borgo is now under AB InBev and seeing the lengths that Cantillon have gone to, it appear that, even if this beer is produced again, that it will NOT be with lambic from Cantillon. Therefore if you can still find this, it’s definitely worth a try, even possibly a last try!

Hazy blond body. Off-white head. Hoppy, lightly sour head. Moderately sour, lightly bitter beer. Nicely balanced. Fashawn (601) - ITALY - APR 9, 2016
Good sour saison. Light aroma of basement, oak, some sweet fruits, barnyard, leaves. golden, hazy, frothy white head. First Sips shows the light sour soul of this beer. Some litchi, white grapes, suggestion of white wine. Also sweet fruits like peach, pear. Good bitterness at the end with Pit peach. Very good one Hair6a11 (1481) - Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2016
Bottle : Well - the presentation is beautiful as far as beer bottles go. This one pours a hazy apricot, with a frothy pillow top into this glass - it retains fairly well - with heavy lace. This one is mineral water, heavy grasses, lemon, and baked bread. It begins crisp and lively - and quickly moves to soapy zest of lemon, with feint stone fruit presence, wrapping up with bready malts, and a touch of funk on a dry finish line. It’s not perfect by any means - but it’s a fun attempt.
