Saison with einkorn.

Draft at Churchkey. I was really looking forward to trying an Italian saison (a nice change of pace from barleywines), but this one was disappointing. Aroma of very subtle lemon. Taste is lemonade and soda water. Not very saison-like.

Cloudy gold beer, thick white head. Light palate, a little dry. Fresh orange dominates the creamy malt. Finishes soft and dry. Simple beer but slips down easy.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a cloudy deep orangey golden with an off-white head. Sweet, fruity nose. Medium body, very sweet fruitiness but also a tart orangey tartness and a vague yeasty note. Flowery with a slight peppery bite. No real bitterness though, but the yeastiness gets more pronounced towards the finish. A pleasant sipper with quaffable qualities. 280312
