Benzai (15608) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 25, 2016
Sampled @ Borefts Beer Festival 2016, Day 1. Hazy amber color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, some hops though not very pronounced, decently bitter. Tastes like a hoppy bitter to me. Not bad, but I wouldn’t call this a Black IPA.

Tap at Open Baladin Roma. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Very hoppy resin/pine aroma. Med body. Flavor is resin/pine. Smoothly bitter finish. Mild hop burn builds with time.

[10/14/13] Draught at Open Baladin in Rome. Very dark amber-brown color with a beige head. Aroma of citric and piney hops, some maltiness and a fruity note. Flavor has some sweetish maltiness with a bit of caramel, light fruitiness, a light roasty touch, citric hops with piney notes and a bitter finish, a bit grapefruity. Medium-bodied. Nice.

Scopey (14736) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2014
Keg at the Well & Bucket, during the London Bimble. It pours cloudy ruby with a thick beige head. The nose is earthy, toasty, rich roast and charred earth. The taste is bitter, roasty, toast, earth, charred wood and peppery grapefruit with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good flavour for the abv. Nice stuff.

Dogbrick (13014) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 3, 2015
Sample at the Badge-Whore Bowl (OSU vs AL) tasting on 01/01/2015. The beer is a dark brown color with some ruby around the edges and a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and pine. Light-bodied with flavors of roast malt, resiny hops and a bit of citrus. The finish is malty up front with a piney hops aftertaste. I was honestly skeptical about an Italian Cascadian Dark Ale but I was pleasantly surprised with this above average brew.
