Editor’s note: wrongly listed at 10% in 2013 on the brewery website, while labels report 9.2%

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2016 Bottle 330ml. Served at room temperature. Pours a very dark brown (virtually black) with a dense foamy, coffee coloured head that is fully diminishing. Aroma is of toasted malts, dusty Belgian chocolates, plums, sticky dates, treacle, coffee liquor and hints of leather. Flavour is rich and silky smooth with a light earthy/toasty bitterness, dark cherry chocolate, prunes, coco powder, dry coffee, blueberry (light) and liquorice notes in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation, a syrupy texture and a long finish. Amazing well hidden alcohol content. Superb Imperial Stout.

330ml bottle thanks to fugitive. Black color with small beige brown bubbly head. Roasted malty aroma, dark dried fruits, soy sauce. Sweet and bitter taste, chocolate, coffee, dark dried fruits. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.

ciocanelu (3109) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - OCT 8, 2015
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Dark brown pour with mocha head. Aroma has intense wood notes and dark sugar. Also some dried figs. Taste is very well balanced. At first you get the dried dark fruits and in the end it gets really roasty and bitter. Body is medium with low carbonation. Overall it’s a nice imperial stout, especially the woody aroma, but the mouthfeel could be a bit better.

colui72 (1158) - HONG KONG - OCT 7, 2015
Pours like car oil, thick black, with a very thin brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice and coffee. Taste enhances the feelings of the aroma, adding vanilla. Very smooth and rich, alcohol well hidden. A great beer!

Idiosynkrasie (8200) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUN 28, 2015

Rating #1064, serveret på Open Baladin i Rom. Gråsort øl med luftigt skum. Mildt syrlig og maltet duft. Smagen har lakrids, malt og en del syrlighed samt krydret humle, peber og en god bitterhed. Ret tynd konsistent. Ok.

Pours pitch black color with a large beige head. Lots of oat on the nose, chocolaty, a bit malty and faint raspberries. Salty licorice on the flavor, roasted malts, chocolate and cocoa, some oats too.Very thick and full-bodied, rich. Better than I expected.

33 cl bottle (9,2%) @ hotel room, Rome. BBE 11/2014
Aroma has sweet cocoa notes and some oat. Also chocolate and alcohol. Flavour has oat, alcohol. chocolate and cocoa. Also somewhat salty licorice. Quite typical oat-IS, but I like it. Definitely better than I expected. Gets some weird herbal tones at the end of the glass with yeast poured in.
