Porter aromatised with tobacco.

(ABI version from late 2016, though also tasted as an independent many years ago.) Beautiful color, nutty malt aroma, elegant ad light mouthfeel, slightly sour and oily finish. A really, really nice beer.

Dark black with no head. Smooth rich roasted aroma, with a bit of smoke. Flavor is both sweet and smoky, not very complex. Watery at the front with a sticky aftertaste.

Pours black, small dark tan head. Aroma is smoke, chocolate. Leather in the flavor. Silky, medium body.

Served in a tulip. Pours jet black with dark creamy tiny head. A bit lacklustre. Smells of woody tobacco and a bit leathery, a very unique earthy aroma which I really liked once I got used to it. Palate is smooth but doesn’t really pop. Tastes of sweet tobacco with a long alcohol finish. Very pleasant unique beer which I wouldn’t mind having again but doesn’t really have the depth it deserves.

GemmeDeReve (119) - FRANCE - DEC 21, 2016

Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Black appearance. Medium-high sweetness and light-medium bitterness. Lively carbonation and full body. Very tasteful!

33cl bottle. Dark reddish brown color. Cocoa and nougat aroma, would not have been able to place the tobacco but there’s a more unusual sweet vanilla/herbal note to it. Flavor is on the dry side, but still malty with some caramel. Medium-light mouthfeel, slightly sour and bitter. Solid.

KoNrRiI (1514) - Århus, DENMARK - NOV 25, 2016

0.33 bottle.
A dark brown color and a small, brown head of poor retention. Aroma of roasted dark malts, smoke, chocolate, grains, some dried fruits. Taste is very similar: roasted malts, chocolate sweetness, smoke, bit of coffee perhaps. A medium body, a slick texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is medium long and sweeter than the rest, introduces cognac. Overall not a bad beer.
