Porter aromatised with tobacco.

A very interesting tobacco-infused porter. Very rich dark tones make this a pleasant porter!

330 ml bottle at home. Pours dark brown to black with a nice sticky light beige head. Sweet coffee grind aroma, a bit of the leathery and Tobacco aromas yes, but not overwhelming. Nice soft and light body with roasted malts and light mocca coffee flavours. Very nice, especially given the low ABV.

Alla spina. Nera con un schiuma marroncina. Poco aromatica, caffettosa e tostata al naso; al palato asciutta e un po pi cioccolatosa, tabacco non pervenuto. Corpo medio-lieve, troppo "sottile", finale equilibrato. Necessit pi intensit.

Disappointing aroma with just a bit of toast. A sour note in the flavor predominates with toast roast and chocolate in the background. Not only sour but too roasty for a porter.

5.2%ABV. Smoked Porter. Tapped out an obsidian black. 40SRM. Nose is a rich smokey, slightly sour tang of properly dry aged tobacco leaves. This could also be a well malted, wet yeasty nose. There are some light peat smoky notes. Some nice umami aroma notes. You get some charcoal sweet aroma like the burnt ends on char siew or bakkwa. There are honeyed dates. Mouthfeel is soapy. Carbonation is light, maybe a tad under carbonated. Palate has date sweetness, a light ume sourness, dry finish.

Bottle from Eataly in Rome. Pours a dark brown colour, with a thick, persistent and well-lacing beige head. The nose consists of roast, chocolate, black bread, dark fruits and red berries, ashtray, nuts, green apples - its sourish and sweet, with a tingle of leafy, herbal notes. Pretty hard to describe. Tastes sweet, with that same appley fruitiness and plums, mixing with roast and sour notes, and a dry, ashy, bitterish finish. A bit of a leafy fresh effect stays at the roof of the mouth. Light on the palate, with modest carbonation, and silky mouthfeel. Pretty nice overall. I dont think Ive had a tobacco-infused beer before. Will look out for more examples.
