Porter aromatised with tobacco.

Cask at Bir & Fud, Trasteverev Roma - 04/10/12. Dark black with a decent frothy tan head. Roast malts on the nose, some hops, sweet chocolate and light coffee tones. Big roast malt flavour, sweet chocolate and dark sugars. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation leading to a dry finish.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2017 Arômes de noisettes et café. Robe noire, mousse beige stable.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, clear beer with a small light tanned head on top. Aroma has notes of tobacco, leather, woody notes and nuts. Flavor is light sweet, vegetal, some notes of tree bark, definitely some leathery tobacco notes in there. A quite thin and light body, light in flavor and short in light sweet aftertaste. Decent and easy to drink, low in carbonation and just ok without being extraordinary.

Bottle at 6.5%ABV. Opaque deep brown pour with moderate airy beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, smoke, a hint of metal. Light body. Mediun dry taste. Rich malty. Light smokiness. Coffee. Light bitterness. All of the 4 samples of del Borgo I tried before were better.

Handpump at Osteria del Borgo (Rome-Italy). Black color, tick beige head with retention. Nose: wow! Peat, leather, old leather belt, roast. Mouth: rich and easy, charming roast, end is watery, mild bitterness.

Pours black with a nice beige head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, and spicy tobacco. Tastes of toasted malts, pepper, tobacco (yes they added tobacco leaves here!), notes of coffee. Quite a rich porter, medium-light bodied, taste doesn’t linger much, though. Decent overall.

Some smoked notes but no intensity in my bottle, dark brown with a thin head, light/medium body, smoked and roasted, some coffee...not as good as i thought.

Amertume 2/5 Douceur 2/5
