Draft at Churchkey. Hazy light brown color, beige edge head. Aroma of floral yet vinous hay and light vanilla. Taste is light and funky port wine. Interesting combo that sort of works.

Draft. Crystal clear amber body with medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grape, some vinous, light bread/caramel, lemon. Taste is moderately sweet, grape, some vinous, lemon, light bread. Medium body, light stickiness.

Dogbrick (13006) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Sample at the Studio 35 Barrel Aged Beer / Slap Shot screening on 02/10/2013. Pours a hazy amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of bready malt, caramel and fruit. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, tart fruit, oak and yeast. The finish is slightly sour and fruity with a lingering oaky vinous aftertaste. I was a little skeptical about a Zinfandel aged beer but this works pretty well.

Draft. Hazy reddish pour. Very ncie erbs, spices, zinfadel, oak in the nose. Flavor is medium sour/tart, again wine barrels, light fruits, spice, oak.

Had some of Paul’s at Local Option. Thanks, Paul! Pours a deep amber color with no head. Huge sour grape notes, with cola sweetness, oak, and earth. Thin-bodied, with virtually no carbonation. I seem to have had a different experience with this than others. A bit disappointing, and didn’t drink at all like a saison.

On tap at The Trappist. Pours reddish copper with a rich beige head and a sour fruit aroma. There is a tart white wine flavor with a great yeast presence and a dry finish. Complex and tasty.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2013 Tap. Pours clear reddish amber with a medium tan head and great lacing. Aroma is funk, yeast, red wine, wood, cherry, hay, pine, oranges. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet and just a light tartness, touch of woody astringence in the background. Vinaceous. Semi Dry finish. Medium body, nice overall.

Draught. Pours amber/copper with a thin pinkish head. Smells of oak, some residual sugar, funk, light citrus. Very complex nose. Tastes sour/acidic with some oaky elements on the finish. Taste does not live up to the nose.

Tap. Amber with one finger head. Cross between a sour, Saison and IPA. Tart and flavorful. Very tart/acidic.

Red body with clinging head. Sour, acidic, but mild with a hint of hops. Fruity, lightly vinous. Very fresh feeling, but not amazing. (on tap, Church Key, Washington DC)
