750 ml bottle. Dark red body, close to black. Brown head. Roasted malty aroma. Flavor is coffee, roasted malt and bitter hop in sweet harmony. Dry aftertaste. A decent porter.

Hansen (8617) - Assentoft, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2006
Dark and black, has a fine laqurice, some salt, and perhaps a hint of tar. Has a off-white, creamy head, mostly lasting.

FrankJohansen (3622) - Sabro, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2006
Bottle. Dark brown colour with a nice mostly lasting off white head. Rich aroma and taste of smoked malts, licorice and fruit. Nice palate.

mds (2256) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 10, 2006
Bottle. Tarry and murky brown in colour with a small white head. Smoke is prevalent in the aroma. Quite bitter and leafy and as such I found it to be one-dimensional. Bitter roastiness in a medium body. Actually this is very unique and drinkable.

blankboy (7833) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 8, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman, mds, Radek Kliber, tupalev & the rest of the gang. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a small creamy tan head. Wow, the aroma is very, very smoky -- I really like it! Flavour’s also very smoky along with roasted malt, coffee and maybe even tobacco. Medium bodied. Really good stuff.

HogTownHarry (7077) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - DEC 4, 2006
Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, biegaman, mds, Radek Kliber, tupalev and others. Poured viscous deep reddish brown, with a smallish tan head. Rich aroma, oily, nutty, almost like smoked meat - hints of rum-soaked tobacco leaves, singed hair and old furniture. Taste - whoa! - same as the nose, deep burnt roast notes, smokey and relaxing, with unsweetened licorice and thick chewing tobacco - dare I say it, something of an "ashtray" character too. Thick body, oily and almost flat, long acidic-bitter finish - really, really interesting, but a 750? Not on my own - 200ml of this would suffice.

3.9
Radek Kliber (7487) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - DEC 3, 2006
Bottle 0.75L
Muddy brown, smallish ring, fine top.
Smooth, very unusual aroma, wet maple leaf, hints of birch smoked wood. New trend?
Medium light bodied, strong smoky character, very clean work. Good balancing. Black tea, tobacco. Bamberg in Italy? Must have..

3.8
caesar (7332) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - NOV 26, 2006
Dark red color, medium creamy and frothy head. Aroma of oatmeal, roasted malts, some vegetable, laurel. Very bitter taste, thick and creamy, roasted malty, coffee. Quite complex. Surprisingly low rating.

3.7
skortila (5996) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - NOV 19, 2006
Bottled, UDRBG. Aroma of coffee malts and berries. Hazy, dark ruby coloured with a brown lasting head. Taste is coffeebitter, roasted with a hint of fruit and some dust. Well-bodied. Good stuff.
