Bottle from Coppers in Newcastle. Hazy brown/black in colour with chocolate and blackcurrant fruity flavours with a smooth roasted finish. jerohen (2276) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - NOV 19, 2006
Dutch Ratebeer Meeting. Very classy bottle. Very dark with yeast particles, brown head. Oatmeal, malt, bread and berries in aroma. Delicate soft flavour which is initially very bitter, but subsequently evolves to be more complex. Very nice brew. Radek Kliber (7316) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - DEC 3, 2006
Muddy brown, smallish ring, fine top.
Smooth, very unusual aroma, wet maple leaf, hints of birch smoked wood. New trend?
Medium light bodied, strong smoky character, very clean work. Good balancing. Black tea, tobacco. Bamberg in Italy? Must have..

Café, Sveavägen, Stockholm. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is licorice, some smoke as well as some dark berries. Flavour is roasted malts, licorice and quite tasty. Some mild vanilla and also tobaccoish (though this isn’t the tobacco version). Wellbalanced and nice porter. Licorice and smoke in the aftertaste.

Big chocolate orange aroma. Really rich roasty body. Great roasty taste too. Carbonation pleasant, and a lovely smoothness to the palate. Finish has some green hops too. Delicious porter, no matter what strength it is.

Full body, good roast. Tangy and almost spicy. Maybe the bottle had been opened too long and poured too many times, it didn’t have the cleanness and freshiness of the newly-opened bottle from B&F.
Bottle 750ml. @ home.jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - NOV 19, 2006
Clear dark dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark roasted, burnt, coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottled, UDRBG, label says 5.5% ABV. Aroma is nice, berries, coffee and grians. Ruby color, beige creamy head, good lace. Light sweet coffee, roasted. Towards the finish more complex flavors, some berries, softer bitterness. Rather full for a porter. caesar (7096) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - NOV 26, 2006
Dark red color, medium creamy and frothy head. Aroma of oatmeal, roasted malts, some vegetable, laurel. Very bitter taste, thick and creamy, roasted malty, coffee. Quite complex. Surprisingly low rating. faroeviking (10826) - FAROE ISLANDS - FEB 9, 2007
Bottle. Deep dark red brownish colour with a nice big creamy light brown head. Aroma of well roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, bit fruity. Flavour is smooth, plenty of good roasted malt, good strong dark chocolate, roasted bitter coffee, some liquorice. Bitter roasty long finish. Scauca (490) - Lovere, ITALY - APR 15, 2008
On tap. Little choco head over a pit black appearance. Nice chocolate notes, licorice and coffee, medium bodied, balanced, bitter end.
