COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10 and 12 C.

Deep red chestnut brown with a tan head. Weak aromas of sweet, toasty malts. Fruity, roasted malt flavors. Holds a decent amount of body with a sweet, alcohol taste. Strong and good.

APPEARANCE- rossa makes sense. Light and red great light head thats playful with the glass in the lacing. NOSE- light toasting. I stole that from someone else on this beer, but its on point. FLAVOR- it tasted pretty strong for an Italian beer then I read something about a dopplebock. And it all made sense.

On tap. Clear deep copper colour with medium lasting big off-white head. Aroma: Caramel, toffee with light dough notes. Taste: Sweet malty start with a sourish and light bitter mouthfeel. A bit weak for the caracter. Lacking the rich malty, thick caracter that you expect from a doppelbock. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Medium lasting sourish finish. Quite weak and industrial for a doppelbock. Otherwise its ok.

Appearance: A nice cascading head that fills up a good part of the glass before eventually receding. Was a bit disappointed by the body (bronze-amber) as it was a bit clear, was expecting a darker, more opaque body. Smell: Bread, cloves, pepper and a little citrus. Taste: Definite malt with a little toffee maybe? A slight fresh-bread feel, aromatic a little in nature. Peppery, spice-like feel to it as it warms. Mouthfeel: Active carbonation, smooth & a bit chewy. Little pinpricks of spice long after my sip.
