Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10 and 12 C.

It is malty and there seems to be more alcohol than Its actual content. Roasted malt and caramel notes. Smoky and tobacco-like at finish. Not the best Italian Bock. Bock 1877 (the one is actually brewed by Carlsberg Italia) for example has a much more balanced profile and gentle approach while tasting. However Its worthing deinking a copule of bottles especially in winter.

Clear reddish brown. Malty sweet, a bit of chocolate, a bit of caramel malt, a bit of earth, a bit of toasted malt. Medium, slick body. Sweet finish. Surprisingly a nice beer.

It pours a reddish brown with a medium sized off white long lasting head. It has a strong caramel aroma with some dough, leather & resin aroma. I taste caramel, resin, alcohol & toasty with a roasty character. I really like this beer and recommend it.

bottle poured in mug, dark brown color with little head, aroma are intense caramel malts not hiding the booze; taste is mostly caramel malts, with low-medium bitterness, silk and mild dryness with bitter aftertaste that barely lingers a bit, not bad despite being a heineken brew although hardly loyal to the style, maybe plain bock.

Moretti offers a good set of beers. This red bock is rather good and not so bitter. The slightly creamy after taste is a pleasure.

Intense notes of caramel, dark reddish/copper with a good beige head, light/medium body, Law/medium carbonation, caramel...a good surprise despite it remains an industrial beer.

Bottle split with Sarah on holiday in Florence. A clear brown amber coloured pour with a thin greyish head. Poured from a bottle into a Sierra Nevada stem glass. Pours dark brown with head and lace. Aroma of caramel malts and molassas. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of roasty malts, caramel, molassas, dark chocolate, minerals, slight bitter herbs. Overall mostly flavorful although not as much body and a little sweeter and without the bite Ive found in German dopelbocks.

Bottle. Aroma is spicy hops, woody, yeasty and like red wine. Flavor is sweet and nutty, light syrup. Palate is fizzy and like a soft drink. Good beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
