COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

An okay beer. Picked up at the Likeat sandwich shop in Rome. Very mild, stanky sweet. Little head. Not bad.

Bottle from Mentelocale open air cafe in Genoa’s old port area and enjoyed on Corso Italia. Ruby brown colour with a small off white head. Aroma of strong malt, herbal/medicinal with veg. Quite sweet, light bitterness. Malty, herbal finish. Drinkable but not great.

Bottle at the Beer Collection, Bangkok. Poured a hazy reddish brown with a thin white head. The aroma is earthy malt, some fruit. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a crisp, refreshing, doughy biscuit, fruity, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Sample bottle from Dunns. Appearance - cloudy amber to brown with a thin head. Nose - dark honey. Taste - red fruits and more honey. A hit sour and winey but not sure that’s intended. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly decent tangy finish. Overall -

Lightly hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Tangy caramel malts. A vague Sour Red/Brown vibe here. Modest bitterness and a pinch of spice. Ripe citrus before a malty, slightly lagerish finish. Entertaining.

Olutexpo 2015. Reddish amber, thin white head. Bready, caramelly, rye aroma. Sweet malty, bready, grainy. Easy, solid bock.

Kauge (1957) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 26, 2015
Bottle from Fiumicino airport. BB 09.2016. Pours a deep, coppery amber colour, the head’s light beige and big-bubbled. The nose is subtle, malty, I get some red berry bitterness, and hints of nuts and caramel. Tastes very malty, nutty, with notes of caramel and berries. Somewhat grainy later on. Good near strong body, medium carbonation. Slightly herbal in the finish. Would like this to accompany a simple German-style savoury dish.

Amber body and small head. Sweet malts, caramel, English hop, lager fermentation. Light sweet bock. Simple but not bad. (Odd find! Bottle at pizzeria next to Mont Parnasse)
