(Ale For Obsessed)
This top fermented beer is a free interpretation of a Pale Ale. It is deep copper in color, generously hopped (it contains more than ten different types of hops including the American Chinook, Cascade and Simcoe delivering its citrusy and exotic aromas) with a lightly toasted caramel flavor that perfectly balances its bitter finish.
A beer I have always craved. To all those obsessed by Ales like me.

A.F.O. is my second creation. It was launched on the market together with VIA EMILIA at the end of March 2007. The story behind this beer dates back to January 2006 when, for the first time, I came across the new and irresistible character of American hops. Despite the initial excitement, I soon realized that my dream pale ale aimed to express something different. Thus, I challenged myself to create a complex bouquet that would end up being unusual and enticing. The investigation in the field of hop aromas (which may never end) lead me to England and Germany. I also experimented with hop varieties from New Zealand. Despite this, A.F.O.s unmistakable character will never change.

[email protected], Via Losanna, Milan. A vivid copper coloured beer with a smallish tan head. Enticing hop laden aroma with some nice fruity notes protruding. Once more the flavour was robustly hopped, with some balancing sweet malts that had an earthy quality and a hint of spice. Quite full bodied. Lingering bitter finish that satisfied. A really characterful and tasty take on the style.

Wolfbass (1121) - Firenze, ITALY - JAN 15, 2011
Gran bere, gran birra.

from Mondial de la Bire 2010, Strasbourg - hazy golden-amber colour with a persistent pale beige foam; a charming hoppy aroma with notes of apricot, cream and undefined spices; medium-bodied and gently sticky, a fair bitterness and a long hoppy finish of red fruits and cream - subtle and very well-made

(Old BA rate - bottle) Pours with a blooming two fingers of slightly off-white head that holds really well and nice sticky chunks of lacing. Really hazy brown copper hue with orange highlights. Aroma is a bit subdued with some citrusy hoppiness that give a hint of pine; lightly sweet maltiness; pretty basic and nothing off. Taste definitely on the hoppier side, and the citrus is a bit sticky. Floral hints sneak in as well; dryish and the malt sweetness doesnt really rear with is nice. Medium MF, and a bit heavier than I would like for the style but the prickly carbonation scrapes the palate to clean between sips. (5.2% for the record). Just OK drinkability as the heaviness of the body wears on me after a bit. Tasty enough, and not a bad stab at the style. Just nothing to write home about. Solid brew
