(Ale For Obsessed)
This top fermented beer is a free interpretation of a Pale Ale. It is deep copper in color, generously hopped (it contains more than ten different types of hops including the American Chinook, Cascade and Simcoe delivering its citrusy and exotic aromas) with a lightly toasted caramel flavor that perfectly balances its bitter finish.
A beer I have always craved. To all those obsessed by Ales like me.

A.F.O. is my second creation. It was launched on the market together with VIA EMILIA at the end of March 2007. The story behind this beer dates back to January 2006 when, for the first time, I came across the new and irresistible character of American hops. Despite the initial excitement, I soon realized that my dream pale ale aimed to express something different. Thus, I challenged myself to create a complex bouquet that would end up being unusual and enticing. The investigation in the field of hop aromas (which may never end) lead me to England and Germany. I also experimented with hop varieties from New Zealand. Despite this, A.F.O.’s unmistakable character will never change.

On tap at local taphouse. Pours an orange copper with a fluffy white head. Aromas of apricot, peach and citrus. Malt driven with fruity notes at the back end. Different to any other APA that I’ve had. I like this a lot.

Bevuta bottiglia. Dal colore ambra, velato, con una bella schiuma presente. Aroma di frutti tropicali e agrumi. Al palato si sente il pompelmo, la frutta esotica molto intensamente. Il corpo è medio, gasatura non esagerata, buona buona ....

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a very big fluffy head. Nose isn’t very strong: malty, some faint hoppy notes (fruity). Palate is bold, with lots of caramel malt and a load of fruity, bitter hops. Good finish too - refreshingly bitter

Draft sample at Craft&Draft Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Time to taste event. 05.07.2016. Taste with adamnowek. Pour it hazy amberish color with small white head. Aroma of caramel, some orange on the back. Taste like mentos candy, refreshing mint, little bit odd at the end, sweet mango on the back, nice and interesting, medium body, slick feel, lively, bitter.

Keg tap at the Italian Job, Chiswick. Light reddish brown with a sizable white head. Iced tea with mango and lychee in the scent. Pleasant floral taste, mostly sweet. Body’s thin and flat which is a bit disappointing. A drinkable but ultimately so-so APA.

lello4ever (1243) - ITALY - AUG 5, 2016
Colore ambra chiaro limpida con schiuma bianca di media persistenza a grana media. Aroma abbastanza fruttato, anche al palato si conferma dolce con malto, frutta e poca luppolatura. Non male.
