Tap at Open Baladin in Rome-Italy, with Mortlach and daniele. Cloudy peach skin color, tick foam a bit pinkish. Nose: red fruit, sour notes a bit lactic, vinous too. Mouth: a bit salty/mineral, tartness is soft, easy drinking and candy a bit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle @ home. Bottled 2015.12.01. Pours a hazy pinkish brown colour with no head. Nose is tart raspberries, lemons, some funk, yogurt. Flavour is somewhat tart raspberries, musty fruit, lots of lactic acid, vinegar, and possibly some acetone. Rather sour jammy and it just isnt doing it for me.

Bottle (apparently 2015 vintage). Virtually no head. Body is hazy medium reddish-amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (barnyard, horseblanket), with notes of raspberry, seeds, lemon juice, twigs, oak. Flavor is moderately sweet, heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, heavily acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, moderately astringent. Probably the closest thing to Framboise lambic Ive had (of things that dont call themselves lambics), and by that I mean traditional super-sour lambic, not sweetened fruit-bomb sorts like Lindemans. This is perhaps the lowest pH product Ive had from Ducato to date, in fact...incredibly sour but there is just enough residual sugar to make it work. Nice wine-like tannins make the mouth experience quite pleasant despite the expected watery texture and low carbonation (although its still effervescent, not flat). And similarly the raspberry aroma is realistic and attractive but thankfully not overdone (not a fruit bomb even though raspberry is the dominant odor).

Served in a 12oz tulip glass at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pouring a light orange brown color with a small white head leaving no lacing on the glass. Aroma is raspberry with some floral and perfume notes. Taste is a raspberry tartness with a fruity and malty sweetness, finishing dry. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, quite tart, but a refreshing sour ale.
