Birra intensa, acida, speziata e dal gusto avvolgente e pieno. Note calde e dolcemente alcoliche. Buon equilibrio. Gerbeer (4024) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 13, 2014
330 ml bottle. Pours a hazy brown with lots of carbonation but only light head. Aromas of red wine vinegar, a little cherry, and wood with some odd vegetal notes in behind. Very sharp vinegary flavor with enough carbonation to push vinegar in the nose. Yikes and yuck.

Pours a turbid brown with minimal head (though it might be how I’m storing these bottles as I’ve noticed all the advent bottles are ending up this way for me). Smells of apple, yeast, somewhat sweet. VERY sour, slight acetone and cider with an aftertaste like rind. It certainly wasn’t what I was expecting. Not my style but worth a try, probably wouldn’t buy again though. 2014 Advent Calendar #5, 330ml, bottle date 2014, best before 2020
Pours muddy medium amber with one finger of loose off-white head diminishing rapidly to a thin cap, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is sour cherries and lemons, faint yeast. (8/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderate sour. (8/10) Light body, prickly carbonation, lingering and building puckering sour finish. (4/5)
Wow! The Advent Calendar continues to deal out surprises! I would have sworn up and down there was no way they’d include a sour in the mix! I can see lots of bewildered lager drinkers dumping their calendar beers - which makes me sad. This is actually a fairly decent sour - not too aggressive and nicely balanced. I would definitely drink this again. (16/20)

Super gross. Turns out I really dislike drinking pure malt vinegar and haven’t the objectivity to rate this drink. First craft beer I’ve ever dumped!!! northropfrye (3693) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 6, 2014
I love sour and this is a nice intense sour, not nuanced, sure, but it packs a punch. Iced tea body, not much head. Strong vinegar aroma. Taste is sour with a touch of fruity sweetness and cereal or lactose as well. Enjoyable Flemish Red. dfearnley (2318) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 6, 2014
Bottle to pint glass
Aroma of lemon, yeast, and apple cider vinegar. I got a bit of the settled yeast on top of which I should have expected given that it’s a sludgy brown mess. The head, while only 1/2 cm to start pretty much disappeared immediately, leaving a thin white haze and the aforementioned yeast gunk. Lots of lemon from the off...a mouth puckering, slightly sweet lemon, which transitions to cardboard and a little ginger, ending with that original lemony taste coming through. Enjoyable, and it’s going down quickly because I don’t want to look at it anymore. Oakes (18873) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
Muddy light amber. Aroma is sour fruits, lemon and yeast. Very sour, just acetic, bracing, maybe a bit of lacto? A little yeastiness but otherwise not a ton of complexity. Just random pointless sour, lacking any nuance or artistry. Not why I drink beer. shorlin (736) - St. John’s, Newfoundland, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
Have to rate this quickly so I can finish it! Colour is a bit muddy amber copper. Not much carb. Aroma is funky cherry and standard Flemish red stuff. Taste is Puckery tart with cherry and funk. Bit thin and not effervescent. Nice sour.
