I love sour and this is a nice intense sour, not nuanced, sure, but it packs a punch. Iced tea body, not much head. Strong vinegar aroma. Taste is sour with a touch of fruity sweetness and cereal or lactose as well. Enjoyable Flemish Red. dfearnley (2067) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 6, 2014
Bottle to pint glass
Aroma of lemon, yeast, and apple cider vinegar. I got a bit of the settled yeast on top of which I should have expected given that it’s a sludgy brown mess. The head, while only 1/2 cm to start pretty much disappeared immediately, leaving a thin white haze and the aforementioned yeast gunk. Lots of lemon from the off...a mouth puckering, slightly sweet lemon, which transitions to cardboard and a little ginger, ending with that original lemony taste coming through. Enjoyable, and it’s going down quickly because I don’t want to look at it anymore. Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
Muddy light amber. Aroma is sour fruits, lemon and yeast. Very sour, just acetic, bracing, maybe a bit of lacto? A little yeastiness but otherwise not a ton of complexity. Just random pointless sour, lacking any nuance or artistry. Not why I drink beer. shorlin (721) - St. John’s, Newfoundland, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
Have to rate this quickly so I can finish it! Colour is a bit muddy amber copper. Not much carb. Aroma is funky cherry and standard Flemish red stuff. Taste is Puckery tart with cherry and funk. Bit thin and not effervescent. Nice sour. gonczy87 (1) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014 does not count
Beer was good. Just a little too sour for my liking! Would definitely try again though

330ml brown bottle. From the Craft Beer Advent Calendar, day #5. Cloudy orange colour, some yeast chunks from a clumsy pour. Head is white and creamy but short lasting. Nose has yeast, lemon and some sourness. Taste is lemony and sour with vinegar and cherry hints. Finishes dry with tangy lemony notes. Pretty nice. andrewturba (1190) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
Pours a hazy copper with a spotty white head and displays good legs. Aroma is fruity, citrus, lemony, cherry, lightly funky and a little earthy. Flavour is tart, funky, lemony, cherry, mildly sweet, and a touch earthy. Oh how I love the puckering beers! Oldschool_Mike (368) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
Bottle into tulip glass. Pours a hazy light brown amber colour with no head. Aroma is fruity sour. Taste is pleasantly sour and bright. Kind of liking this beer.

CBAC Day 5: whooo! Cloudy orange pour with a finger of foamy head, no lacing. Decent amount of sediment which settled quickly. Funky, earthy aroma. I wasn’t expecting a Belgian Sour in the calendar so this was an awesome surprise! Very tart flavour up front, crazy sour cherry and lemon notes. Some yeasty funk and spices linger on the tongue afterwards. reebtogi (6235) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 5, 2014
330ml bottle pours an orange amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is lemon zest and yeast with some earthy tones. Taste is a lemon sourness with some funky tones and a dry finish. Medium bodied with generous carbonation that tickles the tongue. A nicely done sour ale that has a good dose of pucker power. Recommended.
