A murky brown colored pour with some ruby highlights. One glass had a large head, one had a medium sized head that quickly fell. Notes of raisins, malt, cream, and a slight acetic nose. Taste is sweet malt, some dark fruit, slight hops, and some bread. A slight alcohol heat is present, but not overpowering. A nice winter warmer. Good.

750ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy, reddish, pale brown colour. Thin white head. Liqourice, herbal notes, bread, slight caramel, sourness in the aroma. Caramel at first. Notes of bread. Liqourice and herbs in the middle. Notes of liqeurice, caramel and candy sugar in the end. Slight sourness and liqourice in the aftertaste. Rather medium bodied, bit sweet, moderately carbonated, descent brew. Too sweet for my taste and overall bit boring.

Lagerboy (2221) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 1, 2016

Bottle at home. One year old. Has a slightly hazy reddish brown color with a small beige head. Aroma of oak, dried fruit, vinegar, leather, heather, licorice and some alcohol. The flavor is similar but with more anise, oak, leather and heather. Has a silky mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. A nice sweet and sour ale with a pleasant touch of spices.

Rating #1357 05.12.2014 330mL bottle #5 from the 2014 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar - Pours a deep reddish brown with a bubbly head that disapparates rather quickly. Aroma is balsamic vinegar, oak - rich, fruity texture. Palate is well balanced - lots of tart balsamic sweetness, and very sour. Well achieved and devastatingly underappreciated.
