A special one time creation that truly lives up to its name. The base is a Stout brewed with hot chili peppers that has been aged for almost 2 years with blueberries & pediococcus. It is opaque black in color in with just a touch of carbonation. Quite acidic & tart along with very intense flavors and aromas. This nightmare is sure to leave a lasting memory.

Really comes together well. Looks like blueberry syrup with no head or lacing. Super sour, like unripe blueberries with malt. Light carbonation. Slightly syrupy consistency. On tap at Ebenezer Kezars.

7 sept 2013, tap. Dark brown/almost black. Nose is sour stout with faint hints of blueberries. Balsamic vinaigrette, faint heat, maybe some blue fruit. Great! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle with Damico. Pours a dark brown color with a coffee colored head. Aroma of fruit with some slight yeasty funk. Tarty blueberry and other fruit notes. Interesting.

Pours unclear dark brownish coffee in with a dark cocoa colored head. The aroma brings acetone for sure, wild yeast dominance and some fruitiness. The flavor brings big tart nail polish remover wild yeast, wild cherry/berry notes with a somewhat smooth puckering ending.

Tobacco, cider vinegar, prunes, and currants on the nose, a fabulous combination. Quite vinous. Opaque black, no head. Full body, sublime smooth almost viscous texture. Tart apple, prune, currant, tar, and tobacco flavor. Char finish. Fabulous complexity with rich dark fruit and tobaco notes. Amazing.

Aroma of tart blueberry, sticky molasses, and great acidic yeast. Pours deep purple with almost no film. Taste is intensely tart with good blueberry, spicy pepper, and finishes with a toffee bourbon. Hard to decide when the acid alcohol burn and chili pepper sting transfer but it is a wonderful sensation. Will drink again.

Draft... This beer rocks!... Pours black with a large, creamy, lightly-tanned head that never diminishes. The aroma is a swirl of farmhouse yeast dustiness and sweet port intertwined with modest blueberry and cocoa components. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and vibrant carbonation. The flavor is oude bruin-like sharp acidity flanked by fruity blueberries, cherries and hints of caramel and mocha. Its a bit roasty, but thats not a major element here. Finishes acutely tart and fruity. World class beer from a world class brewery!

Bottle poured at WtWBA Brooklyn 2013. Pours a deep body with light lacing. Aroma is blueberries, roast, grain and vinegar. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of sour blueberries and tart vinegar. Some grain and roast in the back. Not a huge fan of this personally.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 Got this at a local restaurant. Served in a tall tulip glass. Is black with a thin beige head. You can smell the sour. Taste of blueberries, balsamic vinegar, and just a tiny bit of heat.

5/24/13. 750mL bottle from Grassroots. Black pour with a very small, loose, soapy, tan head that sort of cascades up like Guinness, which is weird, and then fades fast and goes away. Uber sour aroma, both acidic and acetic, with wood, bourbon, soy sauce, alcohol, and balsamic vinegar. Super, super sour flavor, a touch of roast, some earthy peppers, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, sweetness, and more. Almost too much going on, not always melding well, and Im not sure Im convinced this was done on purpose.
