Bottle, from Bottle Revolution, I think, um.... Well now, this is all over the place. I get sweet, hot, tart aromas. Blueberry, pepper, barrel , funk. Dark orangey brown color, no head or lace. Sour flavor, medium body, smooth mouthfeel, sour finish. Um, guess it depends on your point of view, I don’t like the mix, but point for originality ultimately the ingredients don’t blend for me, blueberry, pepper and barrel just don’t mix Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - MAR 2, 2014

Appearance: Deep opaque chestnut with no head.
Aroma: Very strong aromas of hot chilies, whiskey, oak and ethanol.
Taste: Sweet blueberry intro with oak and whiskey into a HUGE vinegar pucker. I mean HUGE vinegar acidity that almost immediately caused heartburn. Even after 4 small sips I had a huge pucker. The vinegar lingers long after the sip. This is ridiculously acidic.
Palate: Flat and full-bodied.
Overall: Way too acidic to be enjoyable. I can’t imagine anyone but someone who likes to drink straight vinegar would enjoy this.
Bottle from the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton. Poured into a brandy snifter. Beautiful deep purple with no head. Really an awesome color. The aroma was powerful with bacterial sour yeasts, blueberries, spices, cider vinegar and alcohol. The taste was very vinegar (like balsamic), sour, blueberry, oak barrel, tannins, acids, yeast. Frankly I love sours but this was kind of like drinking a good alcohol salad dressing. I appreciate the idea, but for my palette it didn’t work. Pretty color though.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2015 Poured as a taster at local shop. Aroma is... strange. Clearly some blueberry in the nose, hot pepper, and alcohol. Taste was quite sour, lots of nice blueberry fruit without being sweet. The heat stayed around on the palate making a long finish that really grew on me. This was very interesting and good.
Re-rate 11 Dec 2015. Pours really dark still with even less head. Aroma has changed. Still lots of blueberry, but now maple and chocolate on the nose and palate. Still super tart. Maple aroma fades a bit after opening. Still have one more bottle in the cellar so we will see how it develops. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - DEC 31, 2013
Dark brown pour with a brown head. The aroma has some chocolate, blueberry, roasted malt and vinegar notes. The flavor is very acidic. I get a lot of apple cider vinegar notes as well as some light chocolate and blueberry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. blutt59 (6576) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 12, 2013
bottled, rusty brown color with funky aroma of blueberries and mercurochrome, oily bitter cardboard and berry flavor DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 30, 2013
Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball... For $6 !!! The snifter price was $12 !!! Dayum, Ducato! Oh well, YOLO... Dark brown / red color, near black. Clear around the edges. Minimal ring of light brown head. Very tart blueberry nose in the aroma. Super big sour tart taste in the flavor. Very assertively sour, good blueberry flavor, chocolate... Chile pepper is very subtle, amidst the intensely big sour... But you feel it in your throat after the swallow. Nova was saying nail polish. Alden said Shelly spoke of Acetone... Kind of an acidic bite to this, but I don’t mind this at all.. Very big sour taste, light sweet. Bigger body, kind of sticky and slick. I like the tart acidic assertiveness of this sour. Very light carbonation. Really tasty, bold, interesting stuff to sip on. Just wish Del Ducato wasn’t so damn expensive, then I might be more inclined to try more of their bottles.. Tap. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy tart fruit, sour and dark malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & tart flavor with a medium to heavy tart bite & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer for style.
