Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Schokolade. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, angenehm cremig, schokoladig, erdig. BlackHaddock (7672) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2014
0.75 cl Bottle: shared at the 2014 Pre Brugge beer exchanged organised by Filip of the Belgian Beer Board website. Thank you whoever brought this beauty to the table.
Black body with a good tanned crown on top.
Malty with coffee and dark chocolate notes in the aroma, these carried on into the taste also.
This is a good solid Stout, hints of liquorice came and went with dark chocolate being the dominant flavour in my opinion.
I am warming to Italian beers, my visit to Rome in Dec 2013 helped and the beers I tried during this bottle swap were all interesting and of a good quality. Buongiorgio00 (951) - - FEB 10, 2014
GonZoBeeR (3061) - ste-catherine, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 26, 2013

Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Trace of dark malt and coffee on the nose. Palate is light and semi crisp. Mild lactose and mild minerals. A little tangy dark malt, mild coffee. Quite a crispy minerally finish. Tangy dark malt aftertaste, trace of smoke.
75cl bottle from Doemens. Pours a black body with an inch thick, creamy and foamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty roasty with a light, smooth oat note as well as a good amount of dark chocolate, touches of dark fruits, a hint of caramel, and a decent hop note. Flavor is similar. Well roasted with a nice dark chocolate backing that has a bit of a smooth oat feel. Hints of licorice, light dark fruits, and a touch of hop spice. Finishes dry and roasty with a light sweetness before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Light, smooth body and a soft, somewhat active carbonation. Overall, a really nice stout. Balanced and very flavorful especially for the low ABV%. Good one. Aniela (4215) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2013
Bottle. Dark brown beer with a big creamy tanned head. Malty, smokey, tar. licorice, dark chocolate, coffee aroma. Malty, a bit smokey, ashes, dark choclate, coffee and licorice flavour. czar (9412) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 26, 2013
bottle from fred82. thanks. unclear brown with a large frothy beige head, clearly a bottle conditioning issue, also confirmed by a medium acidity profile. good retention and lacing.. acidic roasted notes, some burnt, some darkly fruity - tart but awkward dark red fruits, hint of sweetness - some lactose, peppery, anise, yeasty, lightly metallic (CO2 abundance due to its defect(s)). prickly carbonation, light body, grassy and coffee-ish finish. minus its defect(s), it’s just o-k. Bottle - 330ml. Opaque black body with a thick beige foamy head. Nice malty/hoppy aroma with roasted cereals and chocolate hints. Taste is well balanced. It carries roasted coffee notes and ends with a good bitter/roasty finish. Good stuff.
