COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Top fermented beer which is subjected to a secondary fermentation in bottle. It is deep dark ebony in color with a cappuccino head. The nose has aromas of chocolate, licorice, coffee grounds and tobacco with alcohol nuances. Its full bodied, long lasting, smooth and dry mouth is followed by a surprisingly hot finish that breaks its initial fullness and makes you crave more!

It is suitable for aging.

Dedicating one of our beers to Giuseppe Verdi was a must since our microbrewery is located in Roncole Verdi, the composers birth place. When I returned from my first visit to New York City I decided to create a beer that would be superior in elegance, balance and drinkability to all those stout varieties I had overseas. Although the initial recipe has changed, the very first batch matched my vision. Its uniqueness lays in the use of chili pepper which combines very well with the beers chocolate aroma. The hot finish also lightens its full bodied mouth by awakening the palate.

Verdi Imperial Stout is the first Italian craft beer to have ever been crowned with a gold medal in its category at an International beer contest. In 2008 it ranked first at The European Beer Star in the Imperial Stout category.

Deep brown colour with beige head on top. Aroma has dark chocolate, roasted malts, espresso coffee and hint of vanilla. Taste has roasted malts, espresso coffee, licorice, nice chili burn comes afterwards. Full body and medium carbonation. Chili is used in moderation but still enough.

BB Backlog, Bottle shared with Pat, pours a deep black color with small head. Smell is coffee, dark chocolate, tobacco, plums, vino, and roasted malt. Flavor was pepper, dark roasted coffee, cocoa, and rich malt. A little smokey and very layered. Awesome stout from Ducato

Chocolate, dark, toasted malts, light coffee, some pepper. Black, medium, frothy, beige head. Light sweet. More chocolate and toasted malts, dark fruits, sweet and mellow at first then the chilli kicks in, medium bodied. Very decent Imperial Stout, well-balanced, nice touch with the modest chilli kick in the finish. Keg at Italian Job, Elephant & Castle.

Very dark pour from a bottle during pizza dinner in NYC. lots of dark fruit and very full bodied. I liked this beer. definitely better as a before or after dinner beer rather than a with dinner beer.

Carbonazione bassa. Imperial niente male con bel sentore piccante in gola.

Opaque dark brown liquid with a moderate tan head. Heavy malt aromas with dark bread, toasted and roasted malt and dark chocolate. A bit earthy and some bitter cherry pits also in the scent. Flavor starts moderately sweet and leads to a light acid and some black malt bitterness. Finish is a bit ashy. Full feel. 9/10
