Top fermented beer which undergoes a secondary fermentation in bottle. It is intense gold, almost orange in color, with aromas of fruit in syrup (pineapple, peach and apricot), candy sugar, bread crust and a note of chives from the Belgian hops of Poperinge. Warm and sweet on the palate with a firm fizzy finish. Strong and structured, sweet and inviting. A tribute to a friend who went missing, who we may meet again one day, just like the sun that is hiding behind the hill.

Winterlude is also named after a Bob Dylan song, a perfect fit since it is a winter warmer. The idea of winter as an interlude representing both the pause before awakening and the oblivion before new life.
This beer is inspired by some varieties of the Belgian Tripels. The hops come from the Poperinge region, a variety I have always been fascinated by. I connected with one of the region’s local farmer and had him set a preferred variety aside from his most recent harvest.
Because it combines incredibly well with food, Winterlude has always made us proud with our catering industry clients.

Bottle. Cloudy golden with a rich white head. Complex yeasty, bready and fruity aroma. Interestingly yeasty and fruity, even spicy flavours. One of the more interesting tripels out there?

beautiful cloudy yellow tendence to orange. full body, very good execution of the belgian tradition , tropical fruity, candy sugar. very natural aroma, intense and balanced. I begin to belive the italians can do it better !

Aroma of candysugar and hay. Taste reveals hints of alcohol and belgian yeast. Smooth mouthfeel. Very good beer, but the alcogol could have been hidden a bit better to get the highest scores.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours hazy dark golden with a big white head. Intriguing aroma, sweet flowers, yeast and coriander. Taste is sweet, thick and almost syrupy sticky with a good spicy counterweight. Not bad.

pours golden yellow-orange with a nice frothy head, lots of active CO2 streams. Medium malts on the nose. A super creamy mouthfeel upfront, transitions into flavours of malt, orange, bread, wheat, light hops, light yeast, finishes lightly tingly, sweet (6/10), and a mild bitter finish with a crisp bite. Medium complexity, medium depth, great transitions, good carry, excellent drinkability.

For some reason the name "Winterlude" seems prototypically Canadian to me... damn those Zip Zap Zoup books. Smells of alcohol, molasses, and... nothing else. Tastes of molasses, pine, and malt. But in a good way... but not that much. Still cloying. Many of my friends hate IPAs but I love them. Many people love tripels but I don’t care for them. IPAs are way to bitter for some, tripels are way to sweet for me. Different strokes.

from Erzbierschof - cloudy dark blond beer with a persistent beige foam; nice lacework; estery and yeasty; pretty fruity; full-bodied and with some sweetness; some tart acidity; residual sugars and long yeasty and fruity finish with some spicy tones - beautiful

Beautiful bottle. Cloudy golden pour with a thick, frothy head. Huge aromas of citrus, hops, malt, floral bouquet, ammonia. Sweet and tart on first sip. Citrus and hops dominating with a prevelant alcohol warmth finishing slightly bitter. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Really like Winterlude. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Buona birra si ma non la trova nulla di trascendentale, abbastanza normale senza ne infamia ne lode.

Bottle at yespr. Hazy golden coloured with a small white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel, spices and hops. Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel, hops and grass with notes of flowers. Hoppy finish.
