COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Top fermented beer which undergoes a secondary fermentation in bottle. It is intense gold, almost orange in color, with aromas of fruit in syrup (pineapple, peach and apricot), candy sugar, bread crust and a note of chives from the Belgian hops of Poperinge. Warm and sweet on the palate with a firm fizzy finish. Strong and structured, sweet and inviting. A tribute to a friend who went missing, who we may meet again one day, just like the sun that is hiding behind the hill.

Winterlude is also named after a Bob Dylan song, a perfect fit since it is a winter warmer. The idea of winter as an interlude representing both the pause before awakening and the oblivion before new life.
This beer is inspired by some varieties of the Belgian Tripels. The hops come from the Poperinge region, a variety I have always been fascinated by. I connected with one of the region’s local farmer and had him set a preferred variety aside from his most recent harvest.
Because it combines incredibly well with food, Winterlude has always made us proud with our catering industry clients.

Taste is medium dry and crispy, refreshing and citrusy, lightly yeasty and estery, with more notes of ripe fruits, dried leaves and citrus peel. Medium bodied with soft to good carbonation. Overall, very tasty tripel

pours hazy/cloudy pale yellow, gold tint, with a nice creamy and reviving white head, nice lacing. strong pils character, but also doughy fruitiness - pears, pineapple; cereals, citrus, bitter herbs - no coriander, some sulfur, light sweetness - mostly candi, light peppery and floral booze, interesting belgian yeast features once it gets mixed - dust, pepper, vanilla - and particularly clean, phenols-wise, lemon candies, grass and lightly astringent woodsy notes. average to light carbonation, light to medium body - oily, boozy and almost balanced peppery-herbal-grassy-grapefruity finish. quite enjoyed!

Pours a hazy golden with a medium white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is floral, fruity and a little spicy. Not quite cloves but not pepper either, something in between. Taste is moderately sweet, less so than your traditional tripel and lightly bitter. Flavors are of ethanol, yellow fruits and spices. Alcohol is showing but not in a negative way. Body is medium, carbonation low to medium and mouthfeel a little smooth. Overall a good tripel, I’d drink that again!

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - APR 25, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Duvel glass: Medium sized white foamy head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer. Aromas of wheat, yeast, banana, glue, grains, hint of older yellow fruits, some strange alcohol/phenol tones, some rice... Not too inviting! Flavours of bitters, spices, wheat, malts, yeast, some glue, some grains, older corn and malts, close to nasty bitter, warm... Pfff unbalanced and hard to keep drinking... Bummer! Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, grains, some malts, rice, some old fruits, some light nasty bitters... Low carbo, creamy blown mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture. This isn’t good, what happened!

Ottima triple. Bel colore giallo pieno, leggermente opaco. Schiuma bianca, fine e persistente. Al naso molto profumata, con sentori di frutta e miele. In bocca ha un corpo pieno e resinoso. Sentori dolci e leggermente mie lati anche in bocca, con una gradevolissima speziatura.
